Reviews
The van was quite comfortable, and our group of six got along well without any difficult personalities. Compared to exceptionally famous spots like Jiuzhaigou, I actually preferred Bipenggou. It is much smaller than Jiuzhaigou, so walking around isn't exhausting, and it has alpine lakes, forests, and other lovely features—it's very relaxing. Since I don't ski, my friends and I just hung out in the snow and took pictures at Dagu Glacier, which was also a lot of fun. Regarding the accommodations, there were a few minor hiccups along the way, but customer service resolved them quickly, so we understood. However, if I were to choose again next time, I'd probably opt for slightly better lodgings. Finally, a reminder: be sure to bring a thick jacket. You can wear nice clothes underneath and just take off the jacket when taking photos, but the temperature difference between morning and evening is quite significant, so a warm coat is an absolute must.
The scenery in Sichuan-Tibet is truly breathtaking. Even in many unnamed spots along the way, the views are simply stunning. The wisest decision of this trip was choosing a small tour group; everyone could discuss and coordinate the schedule, making it much more flexible.
I booked the comfort package, which included a 3-diamond hotel in Heishui and a 4-diamond hotel in Jiuzhaigou. The accommodations in Heishui were simple, but clean with plenty of hot water, so getting a good night's sleep was no problem. The night in Jiuzhaigou exceeded expectations; the room was spacious, the underfloor heating was very comfortable, and it wasn't far from the scenic area. Coming back after a day of playing in the snow to take a hot shower made me just want to lie in bed and not move. For someone fragile like me, the physical intensity was manageable and acceptable.
I really enjoyed seeing the snow scenery at Dagu Glacier. As someone from the south, I never expected my first snow-playing experience to be in Sichuan.
Before departure, the guide clearly explained all the important precautions, giving a very good first impression. The 4-star room in Jiuzhaigou was spacious and cozy with comfortable underfloor heating, and it was located quite close to the scenic area—actually turning out even better than expected.
My favorite was the Five-Color Pond in Huanglong. The water was full, with layered shades of blue and green. It was a bit tiring to climb up, but it felt completely worth it.
I live in Chengdu, and my Chinese isn’t great, but this tour was super convenient. The hotel had great hot water. The group was small, so it felt like traveling with friends.
The driver is a seasoned local who navigated the turns smoothly, so my parents didn't get carsick. He knew exactly where we could stop along the way and where the best photo spots were—definitely giving the driver a huge thumbs-up. When my mom felt a bit short of breath at Huanglong, he immediately brought out an oxygen tank and slowed down our pace. There were no shopping stops the entire trip, and he never rushed us. We were given plenty of free time to explore Songpan Ancient Town at our own pace. The scenery was breathtaking.
