- The Chongsheng Temple Three Pagodas Cultural Tourism Area is located north of Dali Ancient City in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is a national 5A-level tourist attraction and a landmark symbolizing Dali's history and culture. This was once the royal temple during the Nanzhao and Dali Kingdoms, renowned worldwide for its magnificent ancient pagoda complex, which has stood for a thousand years, and its profound Buddhist cultural heritage. It is a must-visit destination for deeply appreciating Dali's Buddhist charm and ancient architectural art.
- The entire scenic area centers around the historically significant Three Pagodas. The Qianxun Pagoda, the large pagoda in the front and center, is a Tang Dynasty multi-eaved hollow brick pagoda. It forms a tripod-like arrangement with the two smaller Song Dynasty pagodas to the north and south, showcasing exceptional ancient architectural wisdom and solemn grandeur. Visitors can go to the Juying Pond diagonally behind to capture classic reflections of the Three Pagodas, or stroll along the central axis to the reconstructed grand architectural complex of Chongsheng Temple, where they can admire thousands of carved dragons and the largest cowhide drum in the country, experiencing the royal splendor of yesteryear.
- Due to the vast area of the scenic spot and numerous steps, it is recommended to allocate 2 to 3 hours for the visit and choose to take a one-way electric cart uphill and then walk downhill. Along the way, you can visit the Cultural Relics Exhibition Hall to gain a deeper understanding of the Three Pagodas' repair history and unearthed artifacts. Additionally, as Dali's ultraviolet rays are extremely strong, be sure to take daily sun protection measures and prepare comfortable walking shoes during your visit.
