What to expect
TIA offers a warm and welcoming experience where you can wear a kimono, enjoy matcha and sweets, and discover Japanese culture in a relaxed way. We are located near Fushimi Inari, just a 1-minute walk from the Keihan Railway station exit, making us very easy to access during sightseeing. At TIA, we believe the tea ceremony should be welcoming, easy, and fun—never too formal or difficult. Our English-speaking guides will lead you step by step, from basic etiquette to whisking matcha, so even first-time visitors can enjoy it. Each session lasts about 20–30 minutes, allowing you to experience Japanese tea culture without affecting your travel plans. As TIA is next to a kimono rental shop, you can also wear a kimono before the tea ceremony, creating a unique Kyoto experience. Photos welcome
