- The Song Well is located on the seashore of Yun'ao Town, Nanao Island, and is a famous historical and cultural attraction and a national key cultural relic protection unit on Nanao Island.
- Legend has it that in the late Southern Song Dynasty, when Emperor Zhao Bing of Song fled south to Nanao Island, he was stationed here. Due to a lack of fresh water, his entourage dug a well by the sea to draw water. The well water remains sweet and clear to this day, hence the name "Song Well."
- The biggest feature of the scenic area is that the ancient well is very close to the sea, yet it maintains fresh water quality for a long time, forming a unique spectacle of a freshwater well by the sea. Visitors can not only learn about the history of the Southern Song Dynasty and island culture but also enjoy the coastal scenery, reef landscapes, and fishing port charm.
