Reviews
Reviews summarythe registration was smooth, even the boarding and off boarding. Watching the engine room was exciting. Farm tour and the tour guide was very informational. I was excited and enjoyed the most was feeding the animals, removing the sheep's hide, and watching kim (dog) hearding the sheeps. The tea (coffee, juice) and light snack were also sufficient and taste well. Overall the experience was exemplary. Great for solo, couples, and families with kids.
TSS Earnslaw was such a fun and beautiful ride to the Walter Peak farm tour. Joe and his working dog, Echo were amazing guides. Beautiful farm animals to feed and pet. Followed by afternoon tea and shearing/hearding show. Earnslaw ready to take you back to Queenstown. highly recommend.
The TSS Earnslaw Cruise and Farm Show was one of the best experiences of our trip! The cruise itself was beautiful and relaxing, but the farm show truly made it unforgettable. The demonstration was fun, engaging, and gave us a real taste of New Zealand farm life — we loved every moment of it. After the show, the afternoon tea was such a treat. There was a lot of variety, from sweet to savoury options, and everything was delicious. The whole experience felt well-organised, enjoyable, and perfect for all ages. Definitely one of the highlights of our Queenstown adventure — highly recommended! 🚢🐑☕✨
My partner and I had such an amazing time on the TSS Earnslaw and the BBQ lunch at Walter Peak Farm – it was easily one of our favourite experiences in Queenstown. The cruise over was super relaxing. The steamship itself is beautiful and full of character, and the views across Lake Wakatipu were just stunning. We spent time up on the deck taking it all in and even got to check out the engine room, which was pretty cool to see in action. Once we got to the farm, we were treated to the most delicious buffet BBQ. The food was fresh and so well done – heaps of meats straight off the grill, tasty sides, salads, and desserts that we definitely went back for more of. The setting was beautiful too, right by the lake with mountain views all around. After lunch, there was a fun little farm show with sheep and dogs, which added a bit of charm to the whole experience. It felt peaceful, laid-back, and just a really lovely way to spend the day together. Highly recommend.
The ship was an incredibly beautiful journey (however it does get cold so make sure your dressed up!), the farm was incredibly enjoyable, with fluffy cows, alpacas, delicious food etc. It’s an easy journey and an easy process, make sure you get there early to grantee a good spot in line!
So, so good! the ship itself is a beauty, staff fantastic, we were lucky and had a gorgeous sunny ☀️ day for the cruise. the bbq lunch though was OUTSTANDING!!! staff waiving as we arrived, the food was incredible and . the grounds and gardens are stunning, and the sheep shearing & roundup experience was fantastic. an absolute MUST DO in QT
Enjoyed this so much! On the ship, you'll be serenaded by a pianist who sings, and the captain shares trivias about the lake, the mountains and the sights on the way to Walter Peak. At the farm, the guide provides interesting information about the animals and also lets us feed them. Afternoon tea was delicious, and the entire place is a sight to behold!
This trip on Lake Wakatipu on the historic steam ship TSS Earnslaw is an excellent way to see the beautiful scenery surrounding Queenstown. The ship is well-preserved and comfortable, and tasty food and drink is available from the bar. The views are stunning and we were lucky to have perfect weather. It’s possible to observe the original twin-screw steam engine working - you can get quite close and watch from a viewing platform actually in the engine room. We just did the 1.5 hour cruise to see the scenery, but you can add on extras by stopping at Walter Peak Farm for lunch, horse-riding, farm visit, etc. It looked like an attractive option if you have time. I would definitely recommend this boat trip.
A must-do attraction in Queenstown. Go to the RealNZ TSS counter to exchange your voucher to boarding pass, be sure to check in 30minutes early. Ride the TSS Earnslaw steamship where you get to see the steam engine deck running below and enjoy the beautiful sceneries along the lake. It takes about 30-40minutes to reach the Walter Peak Farm Station. I highly recommend choosing the Farm Tour option in Klook. You get to see friendly and cute farm animals, see how sheepdog herd the sheep, as well as sheep shearing. The farm tour also includes lovely afternoon tea. One of a kind experience!
It feels very comfortable to sit on the boat and watch the scenery along the lake and the snow-capped mountains in the distance. I highly recommend the ECO Tour. Today, the tour leader is a funny and humorous young man from 🇫🇷. He introduced the various trees, flowers, and crops on the mountain in detail, and invited us to taste freshly brewed honey. We also saw cute pigs and little white donkeys, as well as the super cute 🐑咩咩🐑. After selecting the saplings to be planted, we tasted the authentic New Zealand afternoon tea. It was very happy to eat delicious food while enjoying the beautiful scenery. After afternoon tea, we went up the mountain to plant trees. Everyone can write their own name and wishes on the tree's protective cardboard. I am very happy to participate in this activity that helps the ecological environment. Happy😃
