What to expect

Prepare to be mesmerized by the enchanting Kecak dance performance, a captivating display of the traditional Balinese Kecak dance.

This ancient sacred dance brings to life the famous epic Hindu story, Ramayana. As the sun begins to set, the rhythmic chanting of the performers, known as ""kecak,"" fills the air, creating an otherworldly atmosphere. The Balinese dancers, dressed in vibrant costumes, skillfully depict the characters of the Ramayana story, with Prince Rama taking center stage. The traditional Kecak dance is renowned for its unique portrayal of the Monkey King and the thrilling fire dance performances, where dancers walk through the embers unscathed, symbolizing their divine protection.

Witnessing the traditional Balinese ritual dance is an immersive cultural experience that transports you to the heart of culture and mythology. The intense energy and synchronized movements of the performers, coupled with the dramatic storytelling, captivate audiences of all ages. The sacred dance intertwines with the Balinese belief in the spiritual power of the "sanghyang" dance, where the performers enter a trance-like state, channeling the energy of the divine.

Review for: Kecak Uluwatu Kecak & Fire Dance Show Ticket

I made a reservation four days in advance, and the 6:00 PM slot was sold out, so I chose 7:00 PM. The same-day tickets also sold out by 6:30 PM, so it's definitely better to book through Klook. The venue only opens after the 6:00 PM show finishes, so the entrance line didn't start moving until 7:00 PM. Seating begins from the upper rows. Those who arrived later had to sit on the ground. Many people also had to stand. Even if you get a seat, it's very cramped, with your shoulders touching the person next to you. The 7:00 PM show actually started at 7:22 PM. The Kecak dance was absolutely wonderful. The front seats offer a closer and more impactful view of the performers. There was heavy traffic both going to and from the venue, but it was well worth seeing, even with that in mind. The sunset was also beautiful, and the waves crashing below the cliff were impressive. The temple is full of mischievous monkeys. My glasses were snatched from behind my head. It seems they target people who are sitting down. Be careful of the monkeys!

The Kecak & Fire Dance Show at Uluwatu Temple was absolutely mesmerizing! The 1-hour performance combines traditional Balinese dance, hypnotic chanting, and dramatic fire effects; truly an unforgettable cultural experience. Pro tips: Arrive early, around 5 PM, to get a seat with a good view; lower rows are best to feel closer to the action. The ticket counter opens at 5 PM, and you can use the QR code emailed to you to redeem your physical entrance ticket. It’s also helpful to read the storyline synopsis beforehand to fully appreciate the performance. The temple itself is breathtaking, perched on a cliff with stunning ocean views, especially at sunset. Booking through Klook was smooth and hassle-free, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Highly recommend this experience for anyone visiting Bali!

Was pretty cool to witness, also being from a different culture I could hear and see some similarities between mine and theirs! Easy and smooth process, also I don’t know if it was the day I went but it’s no longer 50k to enter the temple it’s now 60k but that’s fine. Views on views, I was blessed with a gorgeous day! definitely recommend going once for sure:)

I booked the Kecak Uluwatu & Fire Dance Show through Klook and it turned out to be one of the best experiences in Bali. The whole activity was smooth and well-organized, and the location at Uluwatu Temple made it even more special. The timing was perfect. We arrived just before sunset, and the view from the clifftop was absolutely stunning. Watching the sky change colors while waiting for the show felt magical on its own. The performance was incredible too. The chanting, rhythm, and energy of the dancers created such a powerful atmosphere, and the fire segment at the end was amazing to see live. It felt very authentic and unique, definitely a highlight of my trip. Overall, I highly recommend booking this through Klook. Easy process, beautiful sunset, and a truly unforgettable show! 🌅🔥

beautiful place to see the sunset. make way to the entrance. tie the provided purple sarong on with the orange tie. must queue for the entrance ticket (60k per pax). then as you enter and walk along, you may avoid another q since you got this show ticket on klook. show your barcode to the person in charge. then they’ll give you ticket and a pamphlet on the show. walk further. be careful of the roaming monkeys. avoid holding anything (even you phone) while walking the road. i’ve seen monkeys taking and running away with the tourists phones. if it happens, have no fear, they do have their carer. find the carer and they’ll help you. if you can pick your seat, you may want to avoid lower seat as there will be lots of smokes during this show (but it subsides quite quickly). actually you can sit wherever you want but hanuman will follow his heart and slide wherever he can and cause mischief hehe. you may take pictures with all the performers at the end of the show. you can even propose there

For the local Balinese culture show, we recommend exchanging your tickets about an hour before the show starts and securing your seats about 40 minutes prior to the performance, otherwise, all the good seats will be taken. The Kecak Fire Dance, performed in an open-air amphitheater on a cliffside, was developed in the 1930s by Balinese artists in collaboration with a German painter. It blends the Sanghyang exorcism ritual with the Ramayana epic. Its unique feature is the use of dozens of male performers who chant "Jak Jak Jak" in unison, creating a rhythm that replaces musical instruments, accompanied by Hanuman's fire-walking show. This performance perfectly conveys the grandeur of nature, culture, and faith.

This ticket is only for the kecak dance. For the entrance admission, it’s a separate pay that you would have to pay in person. super easy. just go to the front and if it’s adult it’s 50,000 IDR per adult cash only. Before you go in, If you have shorts or skirt, get the purple surong and tie it around your waist. The gold ribbon is only if you want to decorate your surong but not needed. highly recommend booking at 6pm ticket on Klook. It secures your time and date because tickets do run out. If you don’t have a ticket, I saw people waiting at 3pm in the unreserved ticket line. On Klook, it’s super easy check in. There is a designated line for reserved tickets. I lined up at the reserved line at 4:15pm, but people already were in line in front of me. I suggest line up early if you want the best spot. they start checking people in at 4:30pm and people can get in early to secure their seats. Be careful of monkeys! it’s very hot and humid, bring umbrella or a hat to cover whole face.

Everything was well-organized, from ticket confirmation to the entrance process. We got great seats and didn’t have to worry about long queues. The whole show gave such a deep insight into Balinese culture and storytelling—it felt both entertaining and spiritual at the same time. Definitely a must-see when visiting Bali!
