The overall class experience was excellent. The course location is in the city center, making transportation very convenient and easy for travelers to arrange. The course content was also very interesting; not only did I learn about the history of Kintsugi, but I also gained practical knowledge of the process and techniques for repairing ceramics. I really enjoyed the interactive and creative aspects of the entire experience. I was able to connect with people from different countries who shared an interest in traditional Japanese culture, and I could also apply my own unique designs and creativity to a traditional craft. There was a wide variety of plates and vessels to choose from, allowing me to select my favorite piece to work on, which was fantastic. Overall, this was a very enriching, enjoyable, and memorable experience. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of traditional Japanese culture. I had a wonderful experience at the Kintsugi workshop. Rina was a great teacher: friendly, patient, and very knowledgeable. She explained each step clearly and made sure everyone could follow along comfortably. The workshop was relaxing, enjoyable, and a great introduction to the art of Kintsugi.
Very friendly staff, even though we were late they still let us do the experience! It was an amazing price and the plates are pretty!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing Kintsugi workshop with our group of 9 friends. A special thank you to Tutor Thunder, who was incredibly friendly, patient, and knowledgeable throughout the session. She explained the history and philosophy of Kintsugi beautifully, making the experience both meaningful and enjoyable. Creating our own pieces while learning about this unique Japanese art was truly memorable. Highly recommended and definitely a must-try experience! 😊✨🙏
The staff were very friendly, helpful, and speak excellent English. We had a great time learning about the history of Kintsugi and personalising our pieces. I'd highly recommend this activity if you are coming to the Gion area. The place is very accessible by bus from Kyoto station.
The workspace was wonderful, and I think creating a souvenir with my mom in Kyoto will be an amazing memory! The instructor explained everything well in English, so it was easy to follow along. If you pay an additional fee, you can try Kintsugi on an even more beautiful piece of pottery!
This was a fun activity for our family that took only 1 hour (maybe a little more for some). The location vs meeting place on voucher was confusing and I'm not sure why they had 2 addresses to cause confusion. We had to take a taxi last minute due to this confusion as the "meeting place" was only one block from our hotel but the location was a 25 minute walk. Seems they have foreigners as instructors where they memorized a script so it felt very touristy. Was disappointed with our instructor as firstly, she told me that one empty plate upgrade wasn't available but then they restocked it about 15 minutes later. Also, she took our plates to wash and package but she should have offered to show us the final results and to allow us to take a photo. Overall I recommend this activity but was disappointed with our instructor. She was from Bangladesh and only in Kyoto for a few months

A fun experience, it was great to be creative again after a long time on the go. Good atmosphere and a lovely instructor, Mai, who was good at explaining the history and helping us along.
Lovely experience! Must add it in your itinerary if you want the nice slow-living day in your Kyoto days. Wil, Mariz and Ash were our guides for the day. They’re amazing people who don’t just teach you Kintsugi, but tell you about Kyoto, its history, Kintsugi’s history, and how it came to be. It takes about 1.5 hours if you complete your piece at a normal pace.. maybe a little more if you customise your plate with your own designs.
