Reviews
We had a wonderful experience here. Georgia was our instructor and she was very patient and friendly. We made our own chopsticks, had them engraved and look forward to using them. I highly recommend trying this place out as it’s near some good tourist spots and not expensive too. I’ll be back again for sure. กิจกรรม:
No Sticks, no food! ⸻ An absolutely wonderful chopstick-making workshop in Kyoto! From the moment we arrived, everything was calm, welcoming, and beautifully well-explained. Ryu Kai Soku are outstanding instructors: patient, attentive, and genuinely passionate about their craft. Their guidance is clear and precise, yet always delivered with warmth and good humor. They manage the rare balance of sharing deep traditional know-how while making the experience accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Working with the wood, learning the gestures, and understanding the philosophy behind such a simple yet meaningful object was a real privilege. You don’t just leave with chopsticks — you leave with a story, a skill, and a deep respect for Japanese craftsmanship. Thank you for this memorable experience. Wishing Ryu Kai Soku all the very best for the future — may your workshop continue to inspire many hands and many hearts. Elaine and Arnaud
We have just finished making our very own chopsticks! we had such an amazing time. Tim let us pick our own type of wood and explained how to shave them down correctly to our preference. Nikko then checked them over (complimented our amazing work) and then personalised our chopsticks for us! it was so fun to watch our names lasered onto them. We deffo recommend this experience and we can’t wait to use them in the rest our trip

I had a really great time making my own chopsticks. Georgia was a big help and even took the time to make conversations (same did William), making me feel very welcomed. I booked a session for one set but asked if I could make two sets, which wasn't a problem at all.
We had a wonderful experience making Japanese chopsticks. The workshop was engaging, enjoyable, and gave us a real appreciation for the craftsmanship involved. Ray was exceptional—friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. Highly recommended!
Liz was a fantastic help. She guided me through the process, helping me engrave my kids names on the chopsticks in Japanese. I had a great experience and would highly recommend. I upgraded my species of wood and engraved them which was an extra cost but there are several other varieties that were included. thanks
