this was the highlight of our trip in HCMC! Spencer was a great instructor. My food allergies were noted and I was given different ingredients, but it didn’t make me feel excluded at all. food was great, location was near everything, it wasn’t hard to find or navigate. overall an amazing experience.
Location was easy to find through maps. We went to this cooking class with our Vietnamese lola (grandmother). They had all the right equipment and ingredients for the 4 dishes. The instructor would not only explain how to cook but also a bit of history or origin of the dishes. We enjoyed cooking and eating what we made.
I had so much fun in our class earlier today (May 22). I thoughtlessly went into the kitchen 😅 even though the meeting place was actually in Ben Than Market. Spencer was nice to be with as we were walking going there. I also met lots of cookmates in this class. Shoutout to John who I jived in right away. All the food were filling but not to the point where you become bloated. They were delicious and are easy to recreate at home. Thank you M.O.M. for this unforgettable experience & for the certificate ✨️ instructor: Spencer (such a darling)
Teacher Helen gave clear instructions and I’m so glad that I took this class. It made my Saigon trip more meaningful. I also enjoyed the meals we made after. More flavorful than the ones they offered in famous restaurants! They provided all the recipes and equipment needed during the class. We also received a certificate after. 💕
M.O.M Cooking Class was a fun and worthwhile experience in Ho Chi Minh City. The menu changes depending on the day of the week, which gives visitors a variety of Vietnamese dishes to learn and prepare. The instructor was friendly and knowledgeable, sharing useful tips and techniques for preparing and cooking authentic Vietnamese food. It was enjoyable not only to follow the recipes but also to learn some practical cooking skills that can be used at home. The class is reasonably priced and offers excellent value. One of the best parts is getting to enjoy each dish after making it, which makes the experience both educational and satisfying. If you’re looking for a relaxing and interactive way to spend a few hours in Ho Chi Minh City while learning more about Vietnamese cuisine, I highly recommend M.O.M Cooking Class.
Super fun! The steps were easy to follow and our teacher guided us well. The food we made was delicious, too. Shoutout to Teacher Spencer! Thank you for an enjoyable class. :)
Very informative and enjoyable experience. You get to cook and eat what you made. The recipes are great and our instructor was very interactive. Highly recommended!
the tour started off at the market. intially we did not know what who to look for but eventually the meet up place proved effective. Mr. Spencer knew all the facts and is very knowledgeable of the things we was saying. after that he lead us straight to the studio and the class was super well organized and the transition from one dish to another is so seamless. i will definitely suggest to do this if ever ur in Ho Chi Minh. the knowledge of their food is crutial to know so that whenever you eat Viet Food you would know the function of each component of the food served
Lovely day! Thank you to Spencer for being such an awesome guide. I had a really good time at the market and in the cooking class. Every dish was sooo delicious, and the host prepared everything for us, including cleaning up and preparing the ingredients. Overall, I had a great time and will come back soon haha.
Spencer was a phenomenal guide and teacher! We had the best time exploring the markets (wet market) where we had the chance to see where locals would buy their fresh produce and meats! Learning how to prepare menu items from Central Vietnam was fun and addictive (we loved the ban xeo!). The weekday class was really cozy so we had a lot of time chatting with our teacher.
