Loved this class! Since there was no one else who booked with us, we kinda had a private 3-pax class haha 😁 Chef Hung (and his assistant Mira) was very knowledgable and spoke good english, answering our questions well throughout the market tour, class, and even in their herb garden. The recipes he taught was also super flavourful and I loved that we were able to make everything from scratch, including the pho skin, a unique experience that I could only find in this cooking centre! As well as other of our favourite dishes: Bun Cha and spring rolls, where there was even bbq equipment avail. Overall, would really recommend this class. For the price, it’s really worth it too!
It was a very pleasant and memorable cooking experience led by an experienced gourmet chef. The only problem is that some grab taxi do not know how to get to the entrance. Everyone there were very friendly and helpful. The entire cooking class was very stressful though a bit slow in general. The meal they had prepared was very delicious and filling.
This was the best experience. I love cooking, so I've taken three cooking classes in Vietnam. The chef here is a true professional. This cooking school is his dream come true. It's incredibly clean and spacious, with a barbecue area next to the studio. Beyond that, there's a lovingly tended garden with vegetables and flowers, and above, a large, lush mango tree. It's a truly beautiful place, and you can feel his passion for cooking. He's also a master at entertaining people. While leading the cooking, he constantly pays attention to everyone, ensuring all participants feel involved. During the morning market trip, he bought us snacks to try, and during the cooking, he assigned tasks according to each participant's skill level. I'll never forget the experience of rhythmically pounding fresh pork from the market with a cleaver. We also got to make pho using a machine similar to a crepe maker, and then dry it. Handmade pho is truly exceptional. He used various spices and high-quality dried seafood in his dishes. The beef in the pho even included tenderloin. As someone who loves cooking, I could really appreciate his high level of skill. It's a shame I couldn't tell him directly because I don't speak English. When I participated, there were only four members, which made it an even more special and personalized experience. Among the three cooking classes I've taken, this was undoubtedly the number one. The quality is incredibly high, and the price is affordable.
instructor: Chef Hung Pickle was such a phenomenal teacher location: the ToiToi kitchen is located outside the Old Quarters. Be sure to wait in Blue Butterfly restaurant safety: 100% experience: we had a very good meal of Pho, Bun cha, spring rolls
Was such a fun and memorable experience! Before the cooking class, he took us around the market and showed us where he picked up his fresh ingredients. The cooking process was in a clean environment and was made enjoyable and easy, led by Hung. The food turned out amazing as well, especially as a Viet person myself! Would definitely recommend anyone doing a cooking class in Hanoi!
It was great to have a hands-on experience with a professional instructor who taught us everything from buying ingredients at the market to preparing them for spring rolls, grilling bun cha, and making pho noodles. I was worried about the rain forecast, but it didn't rain when we went to the market. It rained briefly in the middle, but stopped by the time we left. Our group was indoors, and another group was outdoors, but the rain didn't cause any problems.
Mr. Hung exceeded my expectations. I was expecting the usual cooking class but he went above and beyond. He explained plenty of things about vietnamese food and had as test their scents and taste by bringing us in the market with him. More than that, the recipe he taught us is the traditional way of cooking the 4 dishes we made, which made it taste better than the typical store bought meals. I appreciate vietnamese cuisine more now all thanks to his help. He’s very easy to approach too, and gives clear instructions. Highly recommended!
The cooking class was so great. Chef Pickle first took us through the market and we shopped together. Afterward, we learned to cook amazing bun cha and pho bo. He was extremely welcoming and took good care of us. The kitchen in the green area near the center is beautiful. We would recommend it anytime!
I truly feel that I made an excellent choice by participating in this cooking class. We shopped at a nearby market with professional guidance, and then prepared various dishes such as pho and bun cha. The explanations were engaging and thorough, and all my questions were answered promptly. Pickle was absolutely wonderful! My only regret is forgetting to leave a tip. They were incredibly kind. I highly recommend this experience.
Very nice cooking experience! Proper explanation about the ingredients at the local food market. Then great tips and tricks about different dishes in a very clean kitchen and area! Chef Hung/Pickle is a real professional full out of excitement.
