Reviews
Overall, my experience on Alishan this time was really great 🌿🚂 There was no pressure to rush through the itinerary. Riding the small train slowly through the forest, the scenery along the way was very therapeutic, and the air was incredibly fresh. I felt completely relaxed. The trails were also well-planned, making it comfortable to stop and go as I pleased, perfect for those who want to slow down. Regarding the tour guide, the one we had this time was very friendly and professional. Not only did they provide detailed explanations, but they also proactively guided us to good photo spots and even helped take pictures. This added many positive details to the entire trip and made us feel very at ease.
Alishan - a must-visit attraction in Taiwan! I immersed myself in the stunning natural beauty of the mountains and forests, and even rode the incredibly atmospheric cypress train. My happiness level was off the charts! I also have to give a huge shout-out to our guide, Justin! He was thoughtful and communicative beforehand, took care of everyone's needs throughout the trip, and drove quickly and smoothly without any bumps. The transportation and value for money definitely deserve five stars, and this trip was a 100% fantastic experience!
The guide was friendly and the food was hearty and delicious! (The weather was late December) It was chillier up there than I expected, so a coat is a must. The review photos focused on photos of the dense forest, but there was more to see at the top of Arasan than I expected. Alleys, stairs, cats, small temples, etc. It may be difficult for very young children because the distance is quite long. It was fun to hang out at the arrival location and I took close to 500 photos to keep as memories with my friends. It was great because there were a lot of photo spots! I think it's suitable for couples, friends, couples, or for a one-day company workshop..! You can also ride a train that gives you a sense of history and is very charming. It took 2 hours on the road and 1 hour to climb from the bottom to the top of Arasan (this is the biggest hurdle...), but we took a big bus. Even though I went when the weather was nice, it was really nice to see the fog in the forest. Fortunately, the driver was very nice and I didn't get car sick even though it was a really curved road. I fainted when I came back after seeing it all. And physically, it's not that hard, so you can think of it as just a walk(?). When I came back, I still had some stamina left. I think it wasn't difficult because it was a route that slowly descended from the highest point to the bottom. Anyway, it was a trip worth taking for a day during a long trip to Taichung.
Our tour guide (Mr Lin) is very knowledgeable and explains to us in detail the Alishan National Forest activities. At the same time, he also took many photos for us. Best of all our Allison Forest Railway ride is excellent. Thanks for hus dedication to service us. Highly recommended.
smooth pickup and drop off. you are given 1hr to explore Alishan so be ready to get your steps in. rest of the trip is at the bridge, lunch stop, and railway.
The join-in tour group is a great choice for individual travelers or couples. There were 6 pax in my group which fit comfortably into a 9-seater car. Special thanks to Justine Lin, our guide and driver, who also doubled up as a pro photographer! He is knowledgeable and well prepared for the day tour, providing us with raincoats and mosquito repellent 💯 Would highly recommend if you plan to visit Alishan from Taichung.
We had an amazing experience with Apple Tour Guide on our trip to Alishan Forest. Apple was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the entire day smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. He shared interesting facts about the area, nature, and local culture, and made sure everyone was comfortable and well taken care of. I can’t recommend him enough.
Nice trip to Alishan. Quite far from Taichung like almost 3 hours driving, but when you get there and go into the nature of Alishan, it's worth it. Respect for our tourguide Apple who was driving 6 hours back and forth.
Good tour overall! Kevin is an extremely experienced and friendly tour guide who shared with us many stories and history of the place. He ensured that we all had sufficient time to take pictures and we're all comfortable. He put in the effort to learn all our names despite it being only a day tour. Alishan is Serene and very peaceful with lots of history and sights. We went in winter when there was not much flowers blooming however it was still beautiful. Definitely recommend!
The round-trip drive lasted nearly eight hours, but it was well worth the effort. The driver will first go to Tiandi Jiujiuqiao to stay for a short time, and then go to the restaurant in Alishan National Scenic Area for lunch. The time spent in the scenic area is only about 1.5 Hours are not enough to visit the entire mountain, so I just walked along the trail and took photos, focusing on the Sandaimemu and Shenmu. Finally, I took a small train down the mountain. As the end of the entire Alishan trip, it was a bit of a quick tour, but it is understandable. The only way to go down was to go down. Overall, I am very satisfied with the trip again. I recommend it to everyone.
