- 🎭 "Tianmen Fox Fairy: The New Legend of Liu Hai Cutting Wood" is a large-scale open-air musical based on the Hunan folk legend "Liu Hai Cutting Wood." Directed by Mei Shuaiyuan, the pioneer of live-action performances in China, and with internationally renowned composer Tan Dun as music director, it premiered on September 17, 2009. The play uses the Tianmen Mountain Grand Canyon in Zhangjiajie as its natural stage, costing 120 million yuan to build a fiberglass stage covering over 10,000 square meters, and features a cast of over 500 performers, presenting a stunning audio-visual feast.
