Reviews
worth the money, affordable price, full guidance. so relaxing and free flow coffee, tea and cookies. place is at uskudar, so need to take ferry from europe side, but still worth. place also so warm and comfy. there is a small cafe behind it.
The staff there were very nice and friendly. They even picked us up from the metro station if you’re coming from the european side, and the transport fee was on them. Our instructor Mehmet, explained everything very clearly. During the workshop, we had unlimited water, turkish tea and cookies. Even after I got back to my country, i had an issue with my lamp and i reached out to them for some advice. The staff were super helpful in getting it fixed. They even provided a video to make sure i fixed it properly. You can really see the effort they put in. Overall, i had such a nice experience there. Highly recommended!
MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! We loved it so much! You need to have patience to repeat the same pattern over and over, but it’s worth it. We loved it so much we wanted to do it again!
I really enjoyed it! I recommend it! The only thing was there was no Russian language available. The lamp is included in the price. A woman met me at the Marmaray Sirkeci station and escorted me to the workshop in Üsküdar. She called me in advance and sent the meeting location via WhatsApp.
The mosaic lamp workshop was a truly wonderful experience for our family. It was relaxing, hands-on, and very well guided, with a lovely introduction to the history behind mosaic lamps. Everyone enjoyed creating their own lamp, and it felt special to bring home something we made together. A meaningful and memorable activity for all ages, highly recommended!
We had an excellent time making our lamps at this workshop! The staff are all quite young, and the mood is very fun and relaxed. You can arrive there or be picked up (transport tickets are included) and take the metro from the European side. The glass pieces are handmade, although a lot of them were very roughly cut and you sometimes have to look for a good piece (in certain colors - others were almost all perfect). You'll be guided in the process of decorating the lamp, with a short background about mosaic art. The workshop itself doubles as a cafè where you can wait for your lamp to dry before you take it home (lamp is included in the price, in case anyone had any doubts like I did). As a honorable mention, Yunus, who picked us up, was nice and shared a lot of fun facts about Istanbul, Nihal, who led the workshop, was lovely and helped us when we struggled, and Isra, who helped us pack, gave us great recommendations for places to visit. All in all, we're very happy we went!
This workshop was SO FUN! Only con: it takes place on the Asia side, so if you want to meet on the European side, be prepared to get there 30 minutes early for them to walk you over. We thought that was the starting point and ended up a bit panicked when we realized we had to be there 30 minutes BEFORE the time shown. This session was marked down to $15 which was the cheapest we've seen for similar acitivites so we were a bit skeptical.. but it ended up being everything they said! Small group, cozy space, super informative and funny and interactive teacher, all supplies provided, plenty of unlimited tea and coffee, and everyone finished within the time given. Such a fun use of our day, and now we have the full lamp, plug included (unlike other workshops) to take home. 10/10 would totally recommend!
The process, from designing to completion, was carefully explained (in English), making for an enjoyable experience. The activity took a total of three hours: two and a half hours for creation and 30 minutes for the glue to dry. I was very satisfied because it was cheaper than buying a Turkish lamp in a store, and I was able to create a handmade piece that I'll cherish. The electrical plug is Type A.
Try your hand at making a traditional Turkish lamp! The instructor was very friendly, and I really felt their desire for everyone to have a good time together, starting with a short introduction of all the participants. They clearly and concisely explained the tips and points to note for making the lamp, and I was able to create a lamp that I was satisfied with!
I participated after the coffee experience, so I enjoyed it without having to move. The English was a combination of phone translation and intuition. Even I, who gave up on English in junior high school, was able to enjoy it because the staff kindly taught me! The location is about a 10-minute walk from the meeting place, and they guide you, so I don't think there will be any problems! While waiting for the seaweed to dry, they also prepared Turkish coffee and chai, etc. Overall, it was a fun, fun experience ♥️. I recommend taking your time and relaxing! It was on time.
