What to expect

The Yellow Crane Tower is a renowned historical and cultural landmark in China, celebrated as the "No. 1 Tower under Heaven." Originally built during the Three Kingdoms period, it has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times. The current structure, rebuilt in 1985, is modeled after the Qing Dynasty's Tongzhi-era tower, featuring upturned eaves and imposing grandeur. Ascending the tower offers panoramic views of the mighty Yangtze River, the city's flourishing landscape, and allows visitors to experience the vastness of "a broad vista over the Chu sky." The tower houses a precious collection of calligraphy, paintings, and couplets from famous artists throughout history. The mural "White Clouds and Yellow Cranes," inspired by legends, depicts the magical realm of dancing cranes. Throughout the ages, literary figures have left behind timeless masterpieces here. Cui Hao's melancholy "The yellow crane is gone, never to return," and Li Bai's heroic sentiment "All I see is the Yangtze flowing to the edge of the sky," have imbued the tower with profound cultural heritage. The Yellow Crane Tower is not only an architectural gem but also a spiritual landmark of Chinese culture.

The Hubei Provincial Museum is a national first-class museum and a key national museum jointly built by the central and local governments. It houses a collection of over 240,000 cultural relics, characterized by Shang and Zhou bronzes, Warring States and Qin-Han lacquerware, Chu-Qin-Han bamboo slips, and gold and jade artifacts unearthed from the tombs of pre-Qin and Ming dynasty princes. The ten "Treasures of the Museum" include the Sword of Goujian, the Marquis Yi of Zeng Bells, and the Yunxian Man Skull Fossil, showcasing the charm of Jingchu culture. The museum's architecture incorporates Chu cultural elements and features thematic exhibition halls such as the Marquis Yi of Zeng and Eight Hundred Years of the State of Chu, using cultural relics to tell the historical context of Hubei. As a national 5A-level tourist attraction, the museum is open to the public free of charge and regularly holds special events such as chime bell performances, serving as an important window for inheriting Chinese civilization.
