What to expect
Song Art Space & New Chinese Tea, a poetic and romantic place to find in the bustling city
Song Art Space is located at No. 19 Old Street, Yu Garden Mall, hidden in the bustling Yu Garden Old Street in the bustling city. It has a quaint Jiangnan garden architectural style, with red walls and gray tiles, full of Chinese retro aesthetics. The space has two floors, ordering on the first floor and dining on the second floor. The indoor seats have large transparent floor-to-ceiling glass windows, which is the only location in the Yu Garden area where you can see the Yu Garden garden buildings and the Shanghai Center, where classical and modern architecture collides. The outdoor terrace overlooks the entire Yu Garden, giving people a unique experience of “removing tiles from the roof” and drinking tea on the roof, and the light and shadow are scattered in the afternoon, with lush green and mottled light, quiet and elegant, simple and poetic. In addition, there is also the largest Shanghai-style calligraphy and painting gallery in Shanghai - Yu Garden Gallery, founded in 1994, has been deeply involved in the field of traditional Chinese calligraphy and painting for 30 years, inheriting traditional Chinese culture. The tea snacks are exquisite and delicious, such as hawthorn balls, nut biscuits, and gourd snacks. Gourd snacks are from the hands of famous art masters and are praised as the best mung bean cake ever eaten. The new Chinese tea here focuses on quality and taste, and there are a variety of teas to choose from, such as white tea, flower tea, peach oolong, old white tea, and boiled tangerine peel Pu’er. Among them, peach oolong is sweet and fresh, and the floral and fruity aromas are layered between the lips and teeth; boiled tangerine peel Pu’er is a sweet tone, and the tangerine peel’s fragrance and the citrus tone in the tea are very fresh.
* Appreciate the beauty of art, taste the charm of tea, and enjoy a poetic life

Reviews
very nice experience - first a few kind of teas are introduced and prepared. than you can try them. And I really liked that I could choose my own snack. Afterwards you can sit on the roof top terrace and drink the rest of your teas with a great view of the Yuyuan Garden. The address is not so easy to finde because it is inside of the shopping district - I used Amap to find it and asked a few people.
It was a really good experience, the view was great and the oolong tea was amazing. The time flew by quickly but it was so worth it. The perfume section was very nice as well and the gallery. I would definitely come back. I had a little confusion finding the location but it is located on amap under “Song Art Space Gallery Art Tea Drinks” located near the Dairy Queen.
we had a beautiful tea ceremony. Absolutely wonderful and enjoyable experience. The ladies are lovely and very knowledgeable, we where able to try 6 different tea's. Apart from the shop been a little difficult to find (especially when lane 1 is busy) it was very well explained and organised.
Fun to try on your visit to Shanghai if you enjoy, trying out different kinds of tea. We appreciate the explanation of the other benefits.
We had a good time during this tea ceremony experience. We were able to try various kinds of traditional chinese tea. I think the lady just missed out on the snacks which we were looking forward too? Overall - pleasant experience!
It's the price for a cup of tea, snacks, and a seat, but when you sit down to drink your tea, you can't see the scenery at all. It doesn't meet the purpose of enjoying tea while viewing good scenery. However, there is a great garden view if you stand up. It's okay for taking pictures, but the value for money seems to be lacking. For reference, I have attached photos taken from the seated view and standing up.
A very beautiful experience. The staff is attentive and very kind.
