Yunshuiyao & Yongding Tulou Full-Day Cultural Heritage Tour

Had a wonderful Tulou tour! It was well organized, enjoyable, and definitely worth joining. Our guide, Bozai (波仔), was knowledgeable, funny, and kept the journey entertaining. At Yongding Tulou, our local guide Xiao Jiang (小江) was excellent—her explanations were clear, she was caring and attentive, and she brought the history and culture to life with her lively storytelling. Thank you both for making this a memorable experience. Highly recommended!

The Tulou are quite a challenge to get to via public transport. So taking this tour from Xiamen which included meal pick up and drop off. Plus entry fees for paid buildings was a good deal. For 20 rmb extra you get the epic photo that everyone wants to get at the Tulou that was used in Disney’s Mulan.

Our tour guide, Xiao Wu, was very enthusiastic. He introduced each attraction in detail and made it interesting. He also helped with taking photos and took great care of each member of the group. There was a good variety of dishes for lunch, and they even provided extra chopsticks to use as serving utensils. Be sure to wear comfortable sneakers, as you'll be walking on a lot of stone-paved paths! The large bus was spacious and comfortable, and our group consisted of about 20 people. A large bus will pick you up in the morning. Add them on WeChat before going abroad to stay in contact. They'll let you know the night before what time they'll pick you up from the hotel! It's quite convenient, and there's no hard selling. I highly recommend this tour for first-time visitors to Xiamen; you can arrange a day to experience the Hakka Tulou, a national cultural treasure.

Our tour guide, Xiao Jian, was very humorous and provided detailed explanations; tour guide Xiao Jiang was equally enthusiastic. It's actually hard to distinguish exactly who was who, as most people in the Tulou area are surnamed Jiang, and most in the Yunshuiyao area are surnamed Jian. I was a bit surprised that lunch was included, and they even provided rice noodles before the return trip! Overall, it was very worthwhile, and even though it rained that day, it didn't affect our enjoyment. 😊

This Tulou trip was fantastic! The tour guide explained everything so diligently throughout the entire journey, making it captivating for us. We saw many different round and square Tulou buildings, which was truly impressive, and we also experienced a unique local culture and lifestyle. If you haven't been, this trip is definitely worth it. The time management was also excellent, making it feel like great value for the price. Highly recommended! 💗

Both the Tulou and Yunshuiyao were beautiful and well worth a visit to see the World Cultural Heritage site. 2. The guide, Xiao Liu, at Yongding Hakka Tulou provided a very detailed introduction. She also invited us to her home for tea, introducing us to tea leaves and handmade cigarettes. 3. The lunch was also very good, and it was convenient to eat together in the scenic area.

It was a great trip! The travel agency contacted us two days before the tour via email to provide them our local contact in China — very responsible and thoughtful. The driver and tour guide were excellent, and the bus was clean and comfortable. Lunch was delicious, and at the end of the trip, everyone received free local biscuits. Highly recommended if you are looking for a day trip from Xiamen.

Nice experience. We were given sufficient time to tour the Tulou. It was a Chinese-speaking tour. There were people from Singapore, Taiwan, Inner Mongolia, and other parts of China. Everyone was punctual and polite. The coach was very spacious, with only 3 seats in a row. The tour guide was a guy from SHANDONG. He was responsible. The itinerary was covered with sufficient time allocated to each place. To my pleasant surprise, we were served sour vegetable meesua soup, so that we would not be hungry before coming back to Xiamen.

My guide, 董师傅, is very helpful, knowledgeable and humorous too. 董师傅 is also a very safe driver and shared with us about some facts of Xiamen, the plants, the buildings etc while on the way to see the tulou. The car is very spacious and comfortable. We went to a few tuluo and the local guides for the different tulou were very accommodating, and very good at taking pictures for us too. The pace is just nice, there isn't any hardselling for any products, just purely clear explanation on the history and facts about the tulou. Also, I had left my personal belongings in 董师傅 car and he was very kind to make a big detour and sent it back to me. I was very grateful for that.

The leader, Xiao Wu, was excellent, explaining everything throughout the trip. The lunch was very plentiful. I suggest bringing 10 pairs of disposable chopsticks to use as serving chopsticks. I brought my own, so while everyone else at other tables was just directly picking up food and eating it, our table had 10 pairs of serving chopsticks because I brought my own. The travel agency also thoughtfully provided an afternoon snack (rice noodle soup). Highly recommended, and the tour bus had very new three-row seating.
