Tea Country Tea Picking Light Hike, Exploring the Secrets of the Oxygen-Rich Reservoir
Host Introduction
Hello everyone, I'm Yuanyuan, your Eatwith host. I'm a travel enthusiast, an intermediate tea art master, and a senior tea connoisseur, as well as a mother. More than ten years ago, I came to Longwu Tea Village and was immediately captivated by its beautiful and bright natural scenery and the continuous stretches of Longjing tea trees. I hope to use my understanding of West Lake Longjing tea culture to introduce the good tea and beautiful scenery here to more tea-loving friends. Having lived in Longwu for so many years, I have built a new team, united and innovative, and I am fortunate to be a leading figure in empowering the rural tourism industry in Longwu Tea Town, and have therefore won the honors of Hangzhou巾帼建功标兵 (Hangzhou Women's Meritorious Pace-Setter) and "The Most Beautiful Tourism Person in the First West Lake District".
What to expect
Experience Introduction
Not far from the host’s space entrance, crossing a small stream leads to a well-preserved, healing, light-luxury walking trail. The entire route is rated as easy, causing only a slight sweat, not too steep or slippery. 90% of the path consists of flat stone steps. Upon reaching the summit, you can overlook the entire Guangming Temple Reservoir, surrounded by mountains and continuous tea gardens. Walking down the tea mountain, you’ll arrive at the reservoir dam, where a bustling crowd begins to gather, marking the arrival at the market “He Ni Jian Wei Lai” (What You See in the Future). The entire round trip is about 2.5 kilometers, making it very suitable for beginners who don’t usually exercise much, whether bringing family and parents, accompanying children to breathe in nature, or gathering with close friends. It’s an excellent choice for relaxation and healing. Venue Introduction
Longwu Tea Town is 12 kilometers from West Lake and is the largest production area for West Lake Longjing tea, known as the "Town of Ten Thousand Dan Tea" and "Millennium Tea Town." The adjacent Xishan Forest Park is surrounded by mountains, with lush greenery and rolling tea gardens. Nestled within the tea gardens is the clear Guangming Temple Reservoir, making it the most beautiful, natural, and highest negative oxygen ion concentration leisure activity spot in the city.

Reviews
The experience is amazing. The place is amazing, has a really great energy. I was able to see and be part of the whole tea process. We get to know the village and do a little hike and see the plantations. It was an incredible morning and made my day. ahhh and the lunch was delicious
This was one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had. I’ve traveled to 30+ countries and have never seen such a warm and welcoming community. I started with a tea picking experience, then watched the process of burning tea, thereafter I went into the village for a self guided tour (with continued support from the organizers along my journey). On the way it felt like a fun scavenger hunt-where someone new was waiting for me at different points. I got served tea by the locals in the community who were expecting me, then at the Bunny hotel stop I was served coffee and listed to great old school music. I returned to the tea shop and was given a gift of black tea and such a warm welcome return. This was a 5 star luxury experience and I would pay triple to do it again! Thank you so much! Genuinely.
I really enjoyed this activity! Miss Wang was so nice and friendly. We spent 15 mins picking tea leaves, then they taught me how to dry it! I didn't read the description actually so I thought that was all haha but I had to do a countryside walk! Super nice as I saw a mountainfull of tea! The map can be improved though, I was lost and was too tired to go back but Miss Wang picked me up. After the last stop - the bunny hotel, go back to 2nd to the last stop - stall where you got your tea, between the reservoir and the start of the stalls there is a way down. Use that to go back to Miss Wang's place. This place is 1 hr away from the city but the benefit is there is less tourists! I have not seen any nonchinese there except me! I enjoyed the serenity. They also give a gift which I appriacte very much and light lunch. The food can be improved as well. Please provide a little bit of protein with rice or opt for a snack with tea. I enjoyed the fried rice but I usually eat rice with protein. Also, in the last stop, I was offered coffee. I was shy to ask if there is anything else in the menu, But after the tea and snack in the 2nd stop, I think it is too much to be offered coffee on the 3rd stop. Maybe a light lunch can be served there? Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this! Thank you, Miss Wang and friends for a nice experience.
Short tea picking activity to experience how local doing it. Communication with the host was clear. Look out for weather during hot season
Fun experience. Got to experience the tea picking for a little bit. But remember to take note of the weather. Currently it's very hot
Miss Lilly was very helpful. She showed me all around the tea village, she helped me with some Chinese apps, we had great lunch and took many photos.
I regret booking this experience and not a better one for my short trip in Hangzhou. i chose the basic package but the organization was messy. I put a claim on Klook since the itinerary was different. you pick tea, hike, drink tea which is cool, in a nice place, but then after drinking tea you go for the last step, the rabbit hotel which is in the middle of nowhere (taxi needed). this last step only consists of ordering an americano or latte at the counter and leave (you might not be thirsty + have to drink it on your way back, taxi). Penny was nice, the guy who helped us picking tea too, but the experience isn't worth it if you don't plan other tea plantations visits i think. they are beautiful, there is a nice water spot to see, but in my opinion is not worth the aesthetic of other tea plantations of the region. i feel like we paid for a cheap experience (10$ each) to be a test subject to see if the itinerary was working (which wasn't). still, the ppl are nice, if you have time doit
It was okay. The person struggled to speak English, so it didn't go as smoothly as we had initially anticipated. I wouldn't say it is 'luxury'.
