Hangzhou Longjing Tea Plantation Half-Day Interactive Tour

Pleasant experience with friendly locals who hosted us at their house as we had an infant whom I am breastfeeding. Tour guide Ms. 费佳音 took amazing pictures of our family, and gave us excellent recommendations on Hangzhou attractions!

it was an awesome morning at Longjing learning about picking and roasting tea while drinking freshly brewed Longjing tea. the tea picking experience was fun and the guide was accommodating and attentive. the plantation owner lady was very welcoming and hospitable. overall a great morning. highly recommended.

Tina was an amazing guide at the Longjing Tea Farm. She was extremely reliable, friendly, and very accommodating throughout the entire experience. She explained the tea culture and the surroundings very well, and her English was excellent, which made everything easy to understand for international visitors. What impressed us the most was how she helped us when we struggled to get a taxi due to the large crowds. Despite the difficulty, Tina managed to flag down and secure a taxi for us so we could get to the airport on time. Thanks to her help, we were also able to use our remaining time to explore other parts of Hangzhou instead of being stuck there. Her professionalism, problem-solving, and willingness to go the extra mile truly made the experience much better. I would highly recommend Tina to anyone visiting the Longjing Tea Farm or Hangzhou.

The tea picking experience, tea tasting, and explanation of how to brew tea were excellent. Of course, I had to buy some Chinese Longjing tea to take home. The service was attentive and there was no pressure to buy, but tasting the Chinese Longjing green tea was a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

We met our guide Tina in Longjing tea village and started the activity by going to pick tea leaves. It was very fun and Tina explained us how to choose the leaves and replied to all our questions. She even took very nice pictures of us. Then, we went to the tea farmer house and could experience how they manually roast the fresh tea. It was very nice to try ourselves. We also tasted some tea with snacks and relaxed outside. We could buy good quality tea directly to the farmer so the price was more affordable. Then, we told Tina we were planning to go to the Lingyin temple and as she was going there too, we went together. Once in Lingyin temple area, we stopped in a nice restaurant and had lunch all together, it was really a great time and we tasted good local meals. Tina then kindly helped us buying our tickets for the temple and she made us the tour giving lots of very interesting information about Buddhism and the temple. Once we completed the tour, she even accompanied us where to pick a taxi as we wanted to go to Xixi Wetlands. We loved the tour and especially Tina, as she was very kind and knowledgeable and took on her own time to give us explanations in the Lingyin temple. A must do activity for anyone in Hangzhou!

I really enjoyed this tea picking experience. Our guide was super friendly and helpful, which made everything easy and enjoyable. We didn’t come during the best tea season, so there weren’t many leaves to pick and we only managed to harvest a small amount. But the most memorable part actually came after the picking. We were invited to the tea farm owner’s home, and it felt less like a tour and more like visiting a friend. She welcomed us warmly with peanuts and snacks, and we spent time chatting together. The atmosphere was so relaxed and homey. We also got to learn 宋代点茶, which is considered the origin of the whisked tea culture that later influenced Japanese matcha. Overall, even though it wasn’t peak season, the personal interaction made the experience really special.

We really enjoyed our day in Long Jing with Sunny, who speaks a good English and guided us in this beautiful experience. Everything was well organized and we keep a very good memory of that day. See you next time!

The early morning tea picking experience was nice. as I’m the only one, the guide was able to answer all my questions. He was also very nice to help me take pictures and videos of my tea picking experience. The tea tasting after and tea roasting was a good experience too. But I wasn’t told properly that it was over. They didn’t hard-sell their tea leaves but the tour did state that there was supposed to be a trekking afterwards but I was left to my own. It’s a good experience but probably not worth spending $30+ for it.
