Coconut Forest Basket Boat Ride, Crab Fishing with Lunch or Dinner

It was so much fun! The lady who rowed our boat sang a chant-like song the whole time. We went down a small river and merged into a larger one, where many other coconut boats were floating around. It was very interesting to see boats with people singing karaoke and others casting fishing nets. This was a unique experience that you can only have here. The lunch was also delicious, and my child even asked for seconds. Our hotel was outside the pick-up area, but they still came to get us. I highly recommend this activity.

Our coconut basket boat ride in Hội An was short but unforgettable. Stepping into the round bamboo boat, we laughed as it wobbled gently on the water. Gliding through the nipa palm channels felt peaceful, with green fronds arching overhead like a tunnel. Then came the thrill—the boatman spun us in circles, sending the children into squeals of delight and the adults into laughter. Along the way, we glimpsed fishermen casting nets and heard stories of how these boats were once used in daily life. By the time we returned to shore, our cheeks hurt from smiling. The ride was more than a river journey—it was a joyful memory of family, tradition, and fun.

The collaborating restaurant was very friendly, and the dining environment was good. The 3 PM slot was less hot, and there were three groups on the boat together. The boat captain kept the atmosphere lively throughout the trip. It was a good experience. The Vietnamese dishes were a bit sweet, the pancakes were oily, but the braised fish and green papaya were delicious. We also ordered a refreshing coconut drink.

This experience was pleasant and professional from start to end, and I highly recommend this. The seamless pickup from the hotel, clear briefing on what to expect, friendly coconut fishermen who kept the atmosphere cheery and did not push to do additional services like the boat spinning, crab fishing and sumptious lunch were all enjoyable. The organizers did not specify we needed to tip at all (but we still did to our boat fisherman who looked after us well and even made us little leaf rings!) and only requested we write a review if possible. We hope they continue to operate and do well!

Recommend for the boat drive , the boat man was very helpful and cheerful throughout the journey, he help us to take photos, provided us hats , umbrella and jackets and tell us to take photo or video during the boat spinning performance , very glad he provided us good service .👍

pick up was smooth, when we went for the coconut forest it was a great view! not super crowded too, we got to take great picks. The lunch/dinner was very fresh and filling ❤️ then you get to be dropped off to your next destination, then picked up later on.

The best £20 we spent in Hoi An. We booked our coconut forest basket boat ride on our hotel's recommendation and it completely exceeded expectations. Our guide was full of energy and clearly loved what he did. We even got a try at paddling the boat. We weren't expecting to end up in such a lively spot, complete with music, dancing and basket spinning - it made for such a fun, memorable experience. Afterwards we headed back to the restaurant for a genuinely great meal. Drinks were incredibly reasonable too, with beers and soft drinks only around 20,000 VND each. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting Hoi An - a brilliant mix of fun, culture and value.

The tour felt like a family-run operation, and overall, it was warm and friendly. The owner personally picked us up from our hotel and thoroughly explained the entire tour itinerary during the drive. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we each received a bottle of water and then immediately boarded a basket boat on the river right in front of us. As we moved along the river, we saw other boats with people singing or spinning their basket boats. If we indicated we didn't want to participate, they didn't push us and simply continued with the original route. On the way back, we also had a brief 2-3 minute crab fishing experience, and then returned to our starting point. When getting off the boat, we typically tipped around 20,000 VND, and most of the staff were grateful. However, one male staff member seemed a bit disappointed and raised his voice, which felt a little uncomfortable. It would be great if this part could be handled with a bit more courtesy. After the tour, we were served a course meal at the restaurant where we first arrived, and the food was delicious. After the meal, they drove us back to our hotel, making it an overall satisfying tour.
