About Your Host: Hello everyone, I’m Lao Jiang, your Eatwith host in Lijiang. Over a decade ago, I was captivated by the scenery during a trip to Lijiang and decided to stay. Lijiang generally sits at an altitude of over 2,000 meters. For most travelers, “altitude sickness” or “oxygen deprivation” might be the first physical reaction, but I felt an unbounded sense of freedom and refreshing breaths. After staying for a while, I decided to build a home for myself here – [Breathe · Home at the Foot of the Snow Mountain], and became one of the first B&B owners in Lijiang. Here, we’ve hosted tourists from all over the world, made friends from every corner of the land, and witnessed the joys and sorrows of different people. I’m also a true food lover, so I started my own private kitchen in the courtyard, hoping that the families who come to Breathe can experience the taste and warmth of home with me.

Experience Introduction: My home is located at the foot of Haitang Mountain outside the North Gate of Shuhe Ancient Town. The house has a lawn, flowers, and various fruit trees for self-picking. It faces the mountain view and is integrated with the swimming pool and tea room, creating a fairyland-like atmosphere after the rain. The house features rammed earth walls, Naxi beds, and old wood, as well as wine, candlelight, and cigars. “Breathe” embodies all my imaginations for a quality home, just like the fusion and harmony of Naxi and Western cultures in my heart.

"There are many ways to understand the world. Building an interesting house in a place you love and gathering a group of interesting people is probably the most beautiful way." This is my ideal, and it's the lifestyle I'm currently living. Whether guests come or not, the candles on the table are always lit, waiting with a sense of ritual for an encounter or confession that is equally ritualistic. I love foreign wines, but I love Chinese food even more, so my home only offers "Chinese food served Western-style." There are no MSG tricks here, only authentic sincerity. Enjoy the aesthetics of the table while reminiscing about childhood flavors.
