Reviews
The stalactites in Gyokusendo Cave at Okinawa World are spectacular, and the traditional Eisa drum performance is also very impressive. If you prefer not to visit the aquarium, you can choose to explore the shopping malls instead. The itinerary is quite flexible and can be adjusted to your preferences. Senaga Island offers beautiful scenery and is a great spot for photos. The seafood at Itoman Fish Market is fresh and delicious, making for a very satisfying meal. The Funpass app provides detailed guided explanations! I highly recommend Klook's Okinawa Southern One-Day Tour. The overall itinerary is rich and well-arranged, saving a lot of time on transportation and transfers, making the entire trip easy and enjoyable.
Funpass is very similar to other tour groups, except that the bus fare and attraction tickets are purchased separately. The person responsible for checking the number of passengers boarding is also the bus driver, and no commentary is provided (commentary is self-guided by scanning a Funpass QR code on each seat, allowing you to listen to a one or two-minute quick explanation on your phone). The driver only holds up a sign before getting off the bus to inform everyone of the boarding time, so please don't be late ^_^ (The schedule is tight, so please manage your time for shopping and meals). It was a very enjoyable trip! Thank you!!
The bus pick up was on time. The bus is clean & comfortable with wifi. The driver drives safely. the tour is organized well with ample time for each attraction & not rushed. it is best to take this tour if you don’t have a car to go around Okinawa.
I traveled alone and don't drive. It was worth the trip, but I didn't realize there was no tour guide. The day before, I had a guided tour of the northern region, so I assumed this southern day trip would also have a guide. It turns out I just didn't pay attention when booking (no wonder it was so cheap, haha!). Although the driver was Japanese and didn't speak Chinese, there was a translation app on his phone that we could listen to. The driver was also very thoughtful and helped us make sure we were back on the bus on time. So, there was no need to worry about not understanding or being confused. Plus, there were many other Taiwanese tourists on the bus. It was a great experience and well worth it.
The driver was on time and drove very smoothly. This is a great option for exploring both the northern and southern parts of Okinawa without renting a car. This package price does not include admission fees. The driver will tell you the boarding time before you get off the bus, so be sure to return on time. I enjoyed taking this bus for two consecutive days.
The meeting point is in front of the Blue Seal ice cream shop at Kencho-mae Station. The bus is easily identifiable with the "Funpass" logo on its body. The first stop is Cape Manza. The driver will display a boarding time sign on the front of the bus at each stop to ensure you don't miss it. The Churaumi Aquarium visit has over three hours allocated, which is plenty of time. On the return trip, you can get off at American Village, which is convenient for guests staying there.
Solo travelers should definitely get the Fun Pass! The bus was about 80% full that day, so I could take up two seats for myself, which was super comfortable. This tour doesn't include admission tickets, so you can use it with the combo three/four/five-in-one tickets. The time allocated for each attraction was just right, not too rushed. The only minor drawback was that the driver misstated the meeting time after arriving at Itoman Market, which made eating a bit rushed. I only realized I had over half an hour left when I was about to get on the bus. Also, the driver only opened the bus door at the very last minute to let everyone on, which was a little inconvenient (at other attractions, they usually open the doors 15-30 minutes early). In this scorching weather, getting back to the bus to rest is the only way to go, haha.
There was no tour guide on the bus, but the driver's schedule was clearly posted, so there were no issues at all. We were given plenty of time for meals, and the timing at the Churaumi Aquarium was just right. After watching the 3:00 PM dolphin show, you can take the escalator right next to it directly up to the parking lot, which is very convenient. Getting off at American Village to watch the sunset was absolutely beautiful! Even though the weather wasn't great, it didn't affect the experience! The bus seats had plenty of legroom and were comfortable.
This is a very well-organized and executed program. The meeting point was very easy to find. The driver was very helpful and communicated well. He drove safely and was very punctual. The program was exactly as purchased, and we were able to visit everything on the itinerary. The price was well worth it. I was very impressed.
If you don't want to spend your precious travel energy driving yourself, or if it's your first time visiting Okinawa, you absolutely must join this tour. It's very convenient and easy, the vehicle is clean and comfortable, and the time spent at each attraction is just right. On the way back, playing Pikmin Bloom along the route was fantastic! I was so happy to get many beautiful postcards. Next time I come to Okinawa, I'll try a different route.
