Monbetsu Icebreaker & Asahiyama Zoo & Sounkyo Ice Waterfall Festival 2-Day 1-Night Tour (Departure from Sapporo, Guaranteed Departure)

A highly recommended tour! The 2-day, 1-night itinerary is quite fulfilling, packed yet not tiring. The meals were good, and the onsen hotel arrangement was ideal, featuring men's, women's, and mixed baths, providing a complete and relaxing experience. The driver was experienced and drove very steadily on the snowy roads, which was very reassuring. The tour guide, Tina, was professional and experienced, sharing many Hokkaido historical facts and stories along the way, with rich and in-depth content. There was a lot of drift ice today. Less than 20 minutes after the boat set sail, we saw a large amount of ice floes emerging in front of us. Being able to witness the impressive sight of the icebreaker cutting through the drift ice was truly rare. It is a worthwhile experience that you won't regret even if you visit again.

I joined the tour departing on February 21st, and the itinerary was very rich. There was plenty of time to linger at each attraction. The rubber boat at Bibai Snow Land was a lot of fun! I saw many cute animals at Asahiyama Zoo! I was lucky enough to see drift ice on the icebreaker ship, which was truly unforgettable! The Sounkyo Onsen hotel was very comfortable, and I especially want to commend the tour guide, Xiao Cai! She is super friendly, very gentle, polite, and the itinerary arrangement was very proper. Her organizational skills are very high, and she explained the background information clearly before arriving at each attraction. Finally, when returning to Sapporo, tour guide Xiao Cai led us to thank the driver in Japanese, which was very touching. I really highly recommend this tour. There's really nothing to be dissatisfied with, a perfect 2 days and 1 night!

Our Hokkaido trip, catching the tail end of winter, was fortunate enough to include seeing the penguin parade and boarding the Monbetsu icebreaker. Onboard, we witnessed the rare sight of drift ice, creating a winter atmosphere full of memories. The itinerary was thoughtfully planned, allowing us to enjoy activities like snow ATV and snowmobiling without any queues, which was both thrilling and fun. Tina's explanations were meticulous, her knowledge extensive, and she always put the guests first. The driver navigated safely and steadily through heavy snow and thoughtfully arranged outdoor hot spring inns and excellent restaurants, allowing us to soak in hot springs and savor delicious food amidst the snowy scenery, bringing our winter pursuit journey to a perfect close.

We participated in the 2-day, 1-night Group B tour. Our tour guide, Ms. Ng, was very responsible, managing everything along the way. Before each scenic spot, she would share some history and culture of Japan or Hokkaido, which I personally found quite informative. Regarding the snow activities at Bibai Snow Land, if you only want to enjoy basic snow games and take photos, Group A would be sufficient. For us, who chose Group B, although it included the games from Group A, we only had enough time to play three games exclusive to Group B. This was mainly due to queuing and each game requiring a certain amount of time. Since we only stayed at the park for 1 hour and 30 minutes, after playing these three designated Group B games, we had no time for other basic games or photos. In the end, we were even rushed to get on the bus at the designated time. Therefore, participants should consider carefully whether to join Group A or Group B. The tourist attractions were very fulfilling; we visited several sights on one trip, such as the Asahiyama Zoo penguin parade, the Ice Waterfall Festival, and the icebreaker cruise, which we felt was well worth it. The accommodation and meals were decent. Overall, this tour is worth joining.

All activities & scenic spot completed with good meals provided. All of us are enjoying so much with the 2 days 1 night trip. Unfortunate due to bird flu, the zoo cancel penguin parade, however, we still able to take some photo with those cute penguins. Ice drifting is the most excited activity among all, luckily we managed to experience it.

The itinerary was very rich, and the driver and tour guide were both very professional and meticulous. There was a heavy snowstorm two days before the tour, but fortunately, our entire group had great luck and the trip went smoothly. We even saw drift ice, so the icebreaker cruise was worth it. The seafood feast after the icebreaker cruise was also quite good. The driver always parked the car in the place closest to our destination, reducing the distance we had to walk on the ice and snow, which was very important. It's not about being lazy, it's because the icy and snowy ground makes it easy to slip and fall, so the less walking the better.

The two-day itinerary was packed. On the day of departure, there was heavy snow in Sapporo and the highway was closed, so the trip was a bit rushed. Fortunately, with the cooperation of the driver, tour guide, and fellow travelers, we were still able to complete the trip and have fun. We watched fireworks at the Ice Waterfall Festival, and the next day we were lucky enough to encounter drift ice and a small seal on the icebreaker ship. The group meals were also quite delicious. Special praise to the tour guide Tina, who was attentive and polite, gave detailed introductions to the attractions, made proper arrangements, and helped with taking photos. Thank you very much!

Although we didn't see drift ice on the icebreaker cruise, the other activities were great, especially the snow activities at the snow park, seeing the penguin parade at the zoo, and taking photos at the Ginga Falls. Our tour guide, Wu Yanbo, provided excellent service and explained a lot of information about Hokkaido along the way. Thank you for her very professional service!

This was a fantastic trip, and I'd love to join it again if I visit Hokkaido in the future. We saw wild foxes, bears, and deer right by the roadside! The luckiest part was encountering a lot of drift ice in Monbetsu in mid-March, leaving us with no regrets at all. I recommend choosing a package that includes snowmobiling; otherwise, in Bibai, you'll really only be able to take pictures.
