Would highly recommend the cooking class to those who love Korean food. JunHo was a a friendly and helpful guide plus cook. He explained to us patiently when we tour at the Jagalchi market. His cooking class was located at high hill with beautiful view. We learned how to cook our favourite Korean food from scratch. Thank you Junho for being such a great host

My mom and I signed up for the cooking class in the morning with Jun Ho last week and it was one of the best experiences we have had in our 15-day travel around the south side of Korea. My mom has a lot of preferences when it comes to food, I communicated them through the form and then later through whatsapp with Jun Ho, and he was incredibly patient and tried to adjust the menu and flavours for us to the best of his ability. We ended up having a couple of dishes that were different than those on the menu scheduled for the day, and both of us enjoyed the food immensely! Since Jun Ho didn't have any clients in the afternoon, he took the time to walk around the markets with us (the ingredients he got for us were very fresh!), and invited us to stay longer if we wanted in the cooking studio. Even bought us some regionally special oranges, made us the yummy shaved ice at the end of the meal and gave us each a traditional Korean pouch as souvenir! Not to mention spending a lot of time answering our questions about the Korean society/ daily life. Jun Ho is extremely generous and passionate about giving the best Busan experience possible to his guests and not just through food. All in all, it was definitely a highlight of our trip, and we HIGHLY recommend it!

Our Husband and I enjoyed the experience! Juno was very warm, genuine, generous and enthusiastic in sharing about food as well as food places and things to do in Busan. He explained to us the 2 markets in Busan an even made us bingsu which was absolutely delicious. The food cooked was also really delicious and we look forward to replicating in our own home. We loved the fact that the cooking was done beside the gamcheon culture village so we could have beautiful views of the colourful houses while cooking. Pro tip: take a morning class with Juno and explore the culture village after the class to walk off all the food consumed :) If you only want a cooking class, look elsewhere but if you want a Busan cultural and culinary experience, and a new Friend in Busan, look for Juno :)

If you are keen for a different kind of experience from the normal tours, this activity is definitely suitable for you. Despite the typhoon and my mother's inability to walk long distance, the tour guide goes all out to tailor the trip to suit our needs. The tour started with a tour of the market to shop for raw ingredients. The cooking environment is pleasant and the experience is refreshing. After all the cooking, we sat down and enjoy the fruit of our hard work. The guide patiently explain and demonstrate the required steps to me, who do not cook anything except instant noodles.

Juno can speak English and Chinese. We not only learn tranditional korea food, but also go food market to get our ingredient. I think I will book this class if I go busan next time.
  • YAN 25 Sep 2018
Juno was really nice and accommodating! It was a fun day and learned a lot about Korean cuisine
  • Samantha 5 Sep 2018
Juno is bilingual and able to communicate in both English and Chinese making it really convenient for our group! He is extremely friendly and we had an excellent time learning multiple dishes in his cosy cooking studio. He shared a couple tricks from ingredients to cooking methods that definitely brings out the flavour in Korean food!! Would highly recommend Juno’s cooking class :)
