What to expect
The trip begins with a pickup from your hotel in Kathmandu. The journey then heads towards Dhulikhel to begin the hike where the travelers can experience the daily lives of the locals & their warm hospitality. After a moderate hike of 2-3 hours, the travelers will arrive at the highly revered NamoBuddha Monastery.
It is believed that countless eons ago, a prince named Mahasattva, driven by compassion, sacrificed his own body to a starving tigress and her cubs. This ultimate act of selflessness is what the stupa at NamoBuddha commemorates. Later, when the Buddha visited this site, he recognized it as the place where he had previously made this selfless sacrifice. In reverence, he named the place "Namo Buddha," meaning "Homage to the Buddha."
