Next time I will pick the port closest to my hotel, but there were great food stands at Prannah Pier so we enjoyed lunch onboard. The lady at the booth was pleasant and helpful in explaining the process. At each stop, an announcement was made letting tourists know what sights to explore. We checked out the temple, Chinatown, Iconsiam, and the amusement park at the last stop. This is a great bargain. Go early in the day to avoid the heat and crowds. Lower inside deck is air-conditioned, but the upper deck has the views. Near sunset you cannot get to the top deck because of the crowds. You also have to get off at the last stop at each end.
Great way to introduce yourself to Bangkok, and get to know the piers so later on you can use river taxi with ease...Great experience; especially on a hot sunny day, the breeze on the river is so refreshing. easy navigation from pier to pier via tour boat, and each pier has appealing attractions, from temples to shopping and markets... the only thing to look out for is devious birds whose droppings might rain down from above, so maybe pack a couple extra wet wipes in your bag (and don't forget to pack water and stay hydrated as it is typically very warm and humid in Bangkok). a lot of the places in Bangkok/at the piers will charge like $5 Baht for the bathroom, a d public trash cans are far and few between, so also keep that in mind when travelling.
During my trip to Bangkok, I used the Chao Phraya Hop-On Hop-Off Boat, and it was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing ways to explore the city. The boat runs along the Chao Phraya River, stopping at major attractions like the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, Iconsiam, and Asiatique. The experience was smooth and well-organized. Tickets were easy to buy (I got mine online), and boarding was straightforward. The boats were clean, not overly crowded, and they ran on time. I liked that I could hop off to explore each stop at my own pace and just catch the next boat when I was ready to move on. The view from the river is a different side of Bangkok — calm and scenic compared to the busy streets. I especially enjoyed the sunset views later in the day. If you're looking for a stress-free, affordable, and scenic way to visit Bangkok’s main riverside attractions, this is a great option. Plus, it's a nice break from the city traffic!
Very good mode of transportation if you are planning to have a day dedicated to see the temples! We started at Phra Arthit Pier and ended at Icon Siam for our booked cruise dinner! Just show the boarding pass to the crew and you are good to go! Went to see Wat Arun, Grand Palace and Wat Pho in this trip. Very safe as well!
The last time I traveled, I thought I'd buy this ticket and cruise around the Chao Phraya River on my next visit. It turned out to be a great decision to purchase this, and I spent about 4 hours on the boat, disembarking at various points. 🚤 It's great to leisurely take in the scenery from the boat, or you could make a stop at ICONSIAM or Wat Arun. It's a shame that you can't see the night view as the last boat departs at 7:00 PM. It gets very crowded around sunset.
This was great for a DIY whole day tour to see tourist spots in Bangkok! So convenient to get on the boats and then explore different spots. I was able to visit 5 in one day!
Great value for your money! Nver regretted booking this as it is more cost effective and less of a hassle with traffic and everything else. They have a schedule that you can easily follow and are really on time, the boat passes through all the attractions that you’d want to visit plus you can experience the local culture and things that each pier/local has to offer at each stop. My family and I really had a blast on this trip and this is one of the reasons why.
An excellent way to spend the day in Bangkok !! Hit up the temples and museums during the day, then try to get on the last roundtrip boat ride. You'll see all the spots during golden hour, then at night when wat arun and the palace is all lit up ✨️ the boats are comfortable and always on time, so no worries there.
