Reviews summaryI bought the cheapest tour, covered a few spots. The tour guide was nature lover I guess, he appreciated the wild life and shared us what to do and not to in the wild. He always ensured the safety and regulation before departure. Very educational trip with responsible tour guide. Highly recommend!
Had a lovely time on the mangrove tour. Hazli was a very informed and patient guide who helped us see all the sights that were listed. very accommodative and made sure everyone was happy and taken care of! highly recommend!!
A mangrove tour is definitely worth it if you enjoy nature and want a break from city life. It’s not a thrill ride—but it’s immersive, calming, and full of small surprises for someone who enjoys nature.
The tour was fun. We got a private boat and the boat was clean. The boat driver En Rizal was very nice and kind. He was patient to our old parents esp my mom who has weak knees. His explanation was clear. Recommended to everyone
Booking the Royal Mangrove Tour was incredibly easy and fuss-free. The operator provided clear instructions about the pick-up point, which made the start of the trip smooth and convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed every part of the experience — from the fascinating Eagle Feeding session to exploring the Bat Cave and stopping by Monkey Island. The views at Kilim Geo Park were stunning and the visit to the Fish Farm added a fun touch to the journey. Overall, the tour was absolutely worth the money. It was a well-planned, memorable experience and truly time well spent.
The tour took us to see a variety of mangrove wildlife, including monkeys, birds, snakes, and there was also an eagle feeding session. There was also an optional bat cave visit (RM2 entry fee, RM1 for torchlight rental) where we saw hundreds of bats in their natural habitat. However, note that the boardwalk is under maintenance, so we could only walk in a short way before having to turn back, with most of the caves being inaccessible. This part felt a bit unfulfilling. We were taken on a long boat ride out to the open sea, before being brought back for seafood lunch which seems to be fish with fried rice. Unfortunately, the boat ride was quite bumpy, making us a little too queasy for the food afterwards. Overall, an eye-opening experience with many opportunities for photo-taking. Our package also includes a ride to and from our hotel to the pier. We had to share a minibus with tourists staying in different hotels, and it took quite a long time to drop everyone off.
we enjoyed the boat tour and thanks to the guide who tells us the story behind each stop that we made such as gorilla mountain, crocodile cave and monkey island. the 3 hours journey is worth the experience. one of recommended activity to do if u have kids travelled together.
We booked a private boat for this tour and it worked quite well for us. There was bad weather the night before, so the sea was quite rough. The guide Captian Jack explained that we may not be able to snorkel in Dangli Island as getting there would be challenging. He still managed to get us there safely and we were able to snorkel. The water was very murky, so couldn't see more than a metre underwater! Thankfully, the fishes decided they wanted to come say hello so it worked out well in the end! The Eagles diving to feed was exciting to watch close up as well as was the monkeys jumping on the boats from the trees in the mangrove. The walk through the bat cave was well maintained, recommend taking a torch (mobile phone lights are not bright enough!) or borrowing one from the ticket counter to see the bats hanging from their roosts. All in all a very good experience for our family of 4, would don't again in fairer weather.
the best experience for magrove tour. shared boat with others and mostly foreigners. the boatman explained so good in english and we enjoy the tour. at monkey area can give banana (please prepare ur banana), at bat cave need to pay rm2 per entry n can rent Torchlight rm1 at counter. about 30 minutes spend there. At fish farm there is one guy show explained about the fish. overall spend 3 hours for this tour at a cheap price when book here.
We had the most amazing experience on our Mangrove Tour with Hassan as our guide! He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and so knowledgeable - it honestly felt like he knew everything there is to know about the mangroves. From the forest and plants to the animals, snakes, monkeys, and even the different types of eagles, he shared so many interesting facts that kept us so engaged the whole time. Hassan’s driving was super smooth, which made the tour really comfortable. My family and I had such a great time and we can’t recommend this tour (and Hassan!) enough. Thank you for such a memorable experience, I will recommend to anyone I know visiting Langkawi. Highlight of our trip!
