Reviews
Great tour featuring the most lovely and motherly guide, Marianna. She kept the mood light and funny despite a relatively quiet small group of about 11. The tour took us through amazing scenery of terraces upon terraces of vineyards. The port and wine tasting was excellent, as was the lunch. The boat tour broke up the day nicely and was a very pleasant experience.
highly recommended tour. the itenerary is perfect for a day tour, not cramped. the tour offred a lot of time for us to explore rather than feeling rushing. there were only about 16 pax in each tour so the guide is in attention to all of us. lunch is exceptionally great too.
We enjoyed tour with variety of qine testing. Tour guide, Thomas explained history of Porto and economy and industry of Porto. It was insightful. Also a driver Carlos drives very gentle and make the long journey comfortable. Food was good and only thing I would like to mention about a quality of coffee. I didn't drink coffee after a bit of test the coffee and noticed other partisans didn't finish the coffee. Overall a good experience and worth to join the tour.
Very happy with this day trip from Porto. No communication from the tour company in advance but it turns out that the meeting point is a very visible tour office in the city centre and there are multiple branded tour buses leaving from the nearby street so it’s a large professional touristic company and easy enough to find. Our guide, Nelson, was friendly and ensured we had a happy day. The tour was as described with a short coffee stop on the way in the morning before we arrived at the vineyard for a tour and lunch. Note that contrary to some reviews, you get a quarter bottle each of red and white wine with lunch with two fortified wines so it’s not a freeflow boozefest. Our lunch was not a barbecue but a tasty cod and a pork dish. Also note that there’s no water given out contrary to the description so we bought our own at the stop. The boat trip is fine but nothing special and the port wine tasting could do with some snack or bread by this point in the afternoon. But no complaints. Was good value and we had a good experience.
the tour is well organized, it started on time, the bus is comfy and we our tour guide arnaldo is very knowledgeable, and speaks english well. Before reaching douro valley we made a stop in amarante which is a beautfiul town and went to the dam as well. douro valley is beautiful and im glad we have a river cruise which is the highligjt of the trip
The tour, which guided by a nice and funny guide German, was absolutely great. It's a bit sad that the boat ride had been canceled due to the severe weather. However, I enjoyed the port wines tasting and Douro Valley very much.
The tour guide is very enthusiastic and professional in explanation. If you are a wine lover, you will definitely enjoy this trip! The pick-up location is near St. Benedict Station and is very easy to find. The vineyard will explain their winemaking process, soil, and grape varieties. Lunch is a lot of barbecue and mashed potatoes, and you can drink all you can of red wine! Great trip! Great value for money!
Join the English tour group (find the meeting point and scan the QR code to check in when checking in). Don't worry too much. The whole group is made up of Europeans and Americans. They are all having fun on the road. The tour guide is very nice (the meeting time will be confirmed when getting on and off the bus). The weather was good on the day of departure. The scenery along the Douro Valley is beautiful. The elevated section of the valley is worth a look. Winery introduction & wine tasting & boat ride. Red and white wine are also provided for lunch. The portion is full. It is a relaxing and mindless visit. If Portugal is in the harvest season in September, it should be even more beautiful. Worth recommending.
A perfect trip. The tour guide Tiago is very funny and humorous. The itinerary is very value for money. The vineyard scenery is beautiful and very easy to take pictures. The wine is all you can drink. The lunch is simple but delicious. The river scenery is also very beautiful. During the rest time, there is also a lot of fun. I stopped by some scenic spots and museums for a brief tour. I can only say that I loved this trip so much that it was worth the price of admission!
I really enjoyed Duomo Valley wine tour. It's a nice break from Porto to experience something different and slow down. The tour makes a stop at a small town Amarante for a 30 min break before heading to 1st local winery Favaios. I wished that the tour started later and skip Amarante as that would give some people more time to sleep in or have breakfast on their own. The lunch was good and the 2nd winery Croft was very nice and wished we had more time. The river cruise was great. The ride back to Porto was about 2 hours. Overall the tour was well paced. I'd highly recommend
