The experience was amazing. The driver picked us on time but he didn't know what was our itinerary. He was verifying the itinerary with us. We were quite shocked that as we never studied about our itinerary before. The ride to the mountain was quite fun but they required us to pay if we wanted to go up to the top of the mountain. We didn't pay and we chose to go down as soon as we reached the reat stop. The driver didn't drive us to the Starbucks nearby as we didn't noticed that our itinerary was including the Starbucks visit. Overall, this tour is fun and enjoyable.

Ascend further and reach Taal Volcano’s viewing deck, where you can see the inside of the volcano and the surrounding lake. Be overwhelmed once you realize that you’re actually standing on its two-kilometer wide crater, which is hundreds of feet from the edge of its mouth! Great Tour! We booked a private tour for me and my friend thru klook apps. The arrangement was perfect. Friendly local speaking english driver with nice big car. Very comfortable smooth drive. We started the ride early as both of us, we and the driver, came about 30 mnts early from meeting hour. No traffic on the way to Tagaytay from Manila, about 1.5 hrs. From Talisay to Taal Volcano Crater crossed Taal lake by boat about 15 mnts with beautiful sight. Morning waves were calm. Safety is number one, they provide and asked us to wear life jacket before going into the boat. The tour we booked is a Korean tour provider. They welcomed us friendly and have clear explanations how to hike etc and gave anti mosquitoes lotion. Beautiful scenery from Top of the crater. Gorgeous view. Prepare for sunblock otherwise you will get sunburns. We had nice and sumptuous Korean lunch back from hiking. Finished lunch, immediately go back to Talisay took the same boat. Driver took us to one of Starbucks store in Tagaytay to enjoy sipping coffee with Taal lake view but too bad it was too crowded so we decided to back to Manila but stopped by to buy Buko pie before leaving Tagaytay. Thanks for the nice ride and great tour.

The whole experience was a good one! We have a private driver who picked us up at Mall of Asia at 9am sharp. His name is Woody. Probably the best few hours ride of laughter and jokes. :) It was about 2 hrs drive to Tagaytay from Pasay and we were given an option to drop by Starbucks for a view of the volcano. We then continued our journey for about 20mins to reach the resort and that's where Jacky welcomed us with a quick introduction of the hike journey. We were provided with two healthy horses, (aside from the public trails which we heard some were abusing the ponies for much bigger sized tourists) and with two local guides. The trails looked simple and easy to navigate on your own. Takes about an hour plus to the peak. We had the horse ride up but decided to take the trail down on our own. It was longer, but we felt there wasn't a need for the horses. :) There's a commitment of "tipping" to the guides at the end of the hike (100piso each guide) and there was also an official photo taken with the horse before we started the journey. It was rather pricy at 350piso but we took it anyway as it was memorable. So for those who wanted a memory from the tour, do bring some extra cash to support the locals. :) As for the view, can't explain how beautiful it was. To discover that it is an island with a lake within a lake; is kinda kind blowing. The only downside was that the guides did not tell or show us which trails to continue to the peak so me and my girl friend had to navigate on our own from the top. Nevertheless, it is spectacular view, worth every sweat poured. Also, do note that there are also some "stops" where the locals were pretty persistent in asking you to "buy drinks" for your guide. A bottle of soft drink costs 50 piso, so again, this is optional but required some extra cash with you throughout. We were told that the horse rides are subject to our approval to the guides to hitch up a ride but one of our guides decided to jump on the horse without us saying so. It kinda startled the horse and us so it wasn't something we looked forward to. We ended the hike with a scrumptious Korean style lunch, from appetisers to soup and fruits. It was flavourful and nicely set in a room with fan and air conditioner. Something we all need after a 3-hr hike! Jacky was there around to check on us and he's really friendly and even proposed to have Malaysia flag added to his "Wall of Fame" ! We reached back to MOA about 5pm, just in time to catch the sunset from the bay. :)

This was definitely worth it! Our driver (Ariel) arrived earlier than meet up time. He was friendly and provided us information and recommendations regarding the tour. For example, it would be best to check out the Starbucks in Tagaytay first because it was overlooking and it would be easier on us travel down the sharp curving road rather uphill. We did just that and seeing how the road was, it was better downhill than uphill. We then proceeded with the tour where we would take a boat ride to the island. I dont remember how long the ride was but its was nice being in the middle of the water while enjoying the scenery. Upon arrival to the pier, we were greeted by the owner of the restaurant. He gave us instructions regarding the horse ride up the mountain. Each person got a horse and a helper to assist with the ride up the mountain. They will take your picture on the horse before you head up. This part was nice but exhausting as it was uphill. When you get to the top, you are greeted by vendors selling souvenirs and drinks. These are additional cost ranging from 20-50 depending on the drink. You'd think that you are at the top most but actually there is still a 15-20min trek to the very top. If you are not active, this part may prove difficult, but it is well worth it at the top. There is a rest area at the way top where they have more souvenirs and serve food and drinks. This of course is additional cost. To get back down, you have to take the same route: hike down and then ride the horse. When you get to the bottom, you have the option to pay for the picture taken of you before. It is printed and placed picture in a frame. They comment that it is the money they use to keep the place going and to assist with the solar panels they use at night for the locals as that is their only means for power generation. After that, you can have food at the restaurant which is included in the tour. They served Korean dishes. Please note that drinks are additional cost. When you're all done, you take the boat ride back and you are well on your back to where you started. Big thanks to Ariel! He was friendly and helpful.

Definitely worth it! Pick up and drive went well. The driver was very quiet and doesnt really give any information. so its best to find out what you want to know before you go on the trip. also there are not many people involved in this tour who speak English. However, at taal lake we were put on a boat and taken to the volcano (the Trip back was quite rough bec of wind and high waves). At the volcano people seemed surprised that we insisted on hiking up the trail instead of riding. they even seemed offended. on our way one guide rode 20m ahead of us, not talking just looking grumpy. The hike is moderate and we made it up there in the alloted time. The guides didnt go to the top with us, so we had to ask someone else to take our pictures. It was suggested we buy our guides some Juice and once we reached the bottom it was clear that a gratuity was expected. All in all the hike is certainly worth it, the view is spectacular, but dont expect a lot of conversation or friendliness.

The driver is very nice and the tour is good as well. However the weather wasn't that good and started to rain right after we got to the volcano.... so only stayed 5 minutes on the top of the mountain which is quite a pity. But the experience riding the horse in the mountain path is quite interesting.
