There were some bed bug, terrible.

Everything was ok good location too

Basic but decent place, tidy and clean.

Clean room and accommodating staff

Stayed at Palmeston Suites Edinburgh recently and unfortunately had a very bad experience. The room itself was clean, warm, and reasonably comfortable, and the building has an older style/charm. However, when we arrived, there was a rat inside our room. The worst part was that reception is not open 24 hours, so we were unable to get immediate help or request a room change. Because the reception hours did not match our schedule, we ended up having to stay in the room for 2 nights with the rat still there. What surprised me most is that I checked reviews before booking and did not see anyone mention this kind of issue. I understand old buildings can have problems, but this should have been handled much better, especially regarding guest support and availability of staff in emergencies. Would not stay again unless these issues are properly addressed.

Nice staff but rooms very dated and location out of the way. Overpriced even for Edinburgh.

This was a great location at a good price. We walked to most everything we wanted to see but the buses and trams were not far away. The kitchen had everything we needed. We would stay here again on our next trip to Edinburgh.

We booked this location to get closer to the airport for our last night. The photos made it look lovely but when I got there to check in, the steps up to the front door would've been rough for my 80 year old mother with her suitcase. Once inside to check in, I did not feel comfortable and it looked very cluttered and more like a hostel. I asked about parking and there was none, so we would've had to park on the street with meter spots and hoped to get one close to the hotel. Or parked at least 5 minutes away and lug our luggage to the hotel. No lift to upstairs rooms. So once I told my daughter and mother about all of this, when I got back to the car, we opted to just lose our money that we had paid and find another hotel to pay and stay at.

A kitchen. That’s the only way I can start this because was a convenience to have. Having a kitchen with basic amenities really helps after a long day out or staying in. While off the main road, it’s still an easy walk from Haymarket station and back. It’s a brisk walk to many popular spots like Dean Village. The staff is helpful, even if you are on your own most of the time. While there are no elevators, this hotel is still a great find.
