We booked 2 rooms ($954.76) for one night from Expedia.com , received messages about the room# 22 and #4 and access code to each room. When we got there 9pm, Room#4 was open and not cleaned at all. Room4 is connected to other rooms that were all messy. I sent messages, called the phone number listed, no response, then called Expedia support, Mario tried to contact the owner and called me back without solution. Later I got the message response with a new room#22, but no access code. We tried many different combinations and finally got in. Then 2 guys came to the site. It was after 10pm. In the next morning the owner came in and apologized to us. He said he drove 1 and half hours and complained about bad communication from Expedia like not giving him my phone number for him to call etc. Compared with the other stays in Iceland like Vik, Geirland etc , this River Front lodge is the most expensive with very small rooms and tiny bath sinks. The breakfast is good though.

Staff does not have their act together. Was given the wrong code to check in and since I arrived late I had to track someone down to help. This took far too long for a tired traveler. Finally got in my room and there were no pillows or towels. Was given codes to check in other rooms that weee vacant but no pillows or towels there either.

This was a great place to base ourselves out of throughout our Southern coast adventures. The breakfast was good. Our room was cute. The area is beautiful. I would stay here again.

It is a self check in hotel. We arrived and the hotel room they gave us did not exist the code did not match any other doors. We reached out to the number provided and the phone was turned off. It didn't look like anyone was staying there, no cars in the parking lot, etc. We waited for a response for 1.5 hours and needed to go book another hotel room at 10:30PM at night last minute.

Stunning location. Decent sized rooms with lovely bedding and very clean. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is because the walls are quite thin so we could hear quite a lot from other guests nearby.

This was our most eventful stay. The staff was lovely, though reasonably chaotic at times. The parking area is small. It was raining when we were there and a few people got stuck. Love the aesthetic of the hotel. I wish there were more protein options for breakfast, but what was available was still good.

Staff was very accommodating. Room was great. Small refrigerator was a bonus. Breakfast was delicious.

The room was spacious, private, clean and the breakfast good. The host went out of his way to have our breakfast ready earlier than the normal time so that we could be to our tour in time. Highly recommend!

The setting next to the river was amazing. The room was clean and safe and the hosts were amazing as was the breakfast. Highly recommend.

Cabins were quaint and very clean. Environmentally conscious and pleasant surroundings. Walls were a bit thin and easy to hear other guests in adjacent room. Breakfast just okay and very limited. Good for price.
