Pros-the property and rooms were clean Staff members were professional, attentative, helpful, hard working and polite at all times Good quality of food and night shows (ABBA was spectacular!) Cons - the gym is small and lacks toilet facilities. Lack of designated spaces for smokers, therefore we were exposed to second hand smoking! Lack of recycle receptacles in rooms and throughout the property.

Liked the spacious rooms but not steam iron. Just basic iron.

Wonderful staff

Unlike other RIU resorts like in Cape Verde the room bar did not have any hard liquor

Buffet is sensational. Elite club menu good but could maybe have a bit more choice. All pools are very clean. Only thing it lacks is a jacuzzi. Staff can't do enough for you, all extremely polite. Some drinks service at the beach would be nice. Maybe just for elite club?

Quality of property did not match the price, the food was terrible, the WiFi was shoddy, and there were no blankets on the bed — only sheets — so we were cold all night. We came from Lux Le Morne, which was truly luxurious, and the difference in quality was stark. This is the second Riu I’ve stayed at and the first was similar, so I’m inferring that this is just the brand and will not try another one.

The hotel staff absolutely incredible, the service was fantastic and the hotel itself was very good. The pool bar staff absolutely joy, Nikish, Yash and co a really good laugh. There are many people like the towel lady, Adele absolutely diamond of a woman.

This is a modern and reasonably decorated hotel. However, when we checked in, we were placed in a room that smelt of cigarette smoke. We changed it, but were placed in a room that smelt of damp. That was bad enough, but when we asked for help with the room, the front desk staff promised they would call us back and then did not do so. We asked for help a second time and were again given fake excuses; one member of reception (Nitin) promised to have his management send us a letter under the door or give us a call. No help arrived. It seems the front desk of the hotel operates a policy of lying to desks and hoping they will go away. This is appalling.
