Air conditioner wasn’t working in the room. During a heatwave! Despite selecting the hotel because it said they had working ACs. Sigh. It’s an old property so instead of central AC it’s all mini splits. Made my first night there impossible. Couldn’t open the window because it was street facing. And staff didn’t offer fans or anything to make the room a bit more comfortable. Second night they moved me to another room - ac worked fine phew. They only took off $100 something of the total - not what I expect from a property labeled a small “luxury” hotel. Also the rooms are old so be prepared for ‘quirky’ touches like slanting floors, doors that you have to really jam open and shut, and no elevator. The only saving grace was the lovely breakfast every morning and the wonderful lady who made a great iced latte!

Characterful hotel in good location. Our room was small this time, bigger last time. I assume a lot of variation given the nature of the building. Nice, free continental breakfast. The quiet courtyard garden was enjoyable. Charming.

The Hotel is quite nice. Older historical building made into a hotel the rooms and bathrooms are not too spacious so there are some not so great views—especially if you book through third parties I think. However, the hotel provides a fabulous breakfast buffet and a dinner buffet for the cost of your hotel room. Which I don’t think I have ever had in all my travels around the world. The shower stall was broken and water leaked into the shower. So that was not so great but the staff at the reception were very nice so we didn’t really complain much.
