What a joke. I booked the hotel on the Friday for the Monday and Tuesday nights, with the website saying in-house WiFi. When I arrived and asked, I was told the WiFi hadn't been working since the Wednesday previously ( before my booking ) and would not be fixed before the coming weekend ( and this was on Monday ! ).
I was travelling for work, and needed internet access to work whilst I was there. The woman at the reception had no idea, said it wasn't her fault, the owner wasn't coming until the weekend and nothing could be done.
I told her I needed internet, and could not stay if that was not available.
I refused to stay, and was told I would get a refund. I intend to lodge a formal complaint as their website said WiFi was available in the rooms, and at the date of booking they already knew it was not available and would not be available for another week.
THAT IS DECEPTION AND FALSE ADVERTISING. A full refund is expected.

Neighbours in next unit , possibly long stay, talked till midnight then started again before 5am., when I informed them I was trying to sleep. I requested to be moved, which the staff assisted me to do.
Neighbours in nxt property have a barking dog plus a guy further up William St was calling out from 230 till 330am. So very little sleep for the 2 nights.
First unit , the sliding door to the bathroom didn't work. 4 star rating? Maybe 3 Star is better.

Room was clean & good sized. Property needed some attention. Our shower head was broken. It was held on with tape, which fell off. There were other residence/guests who smoked on the verandah, which made it very unpleasant. A good point was that the property was easy walk to town.

I arrived later than expected and was greeted by the kind lady at reception, who explained the procedures of entry to the room, I was able to park undercover and accessed the room and found it old but clean which was fine for me. If I am ever in the Port MacQuarie area I will gladly use the Excelsior again.

Room was clean but bathroom was very old and dated. The rooms, when turning on their hot water, made an awful noise effecting your space and sleep. There appeared to be rooms rented out permanently. Excellent proximity to the beach area.
