Host was very friendly and helpful. The showers had the best water pressure of all the hotels we’ve stayed at (4 stays) so far on this vacation. The breakfast was also the best. Two thumbs up!

Property was walking distance to dinning and all attractions. We didn’t get the room that was shown. Not well stocked washrooms and rooms were pretty basic. Beds were ok. Staff were friendly and helpful. This one lady helped us do our laundry and even hung them to dry in spite of telling her we’ll collect the laundry on our return. Our room was just next to the road outside and was noisy at times. Other than that our stay was pleasant.

Carmella was wonderful and made sure we got what we needed. She definitely made two tired travelers feel right at home.

Bellissime camere, disponibilità, gentilezza; abbiamo dormito benissimo e ottima colazione. La posizione è perfetta per visitare Matera e parcheggiare.

The hotel was located just outside the main town area but was a short walk. Parking is an issue. Very nice breakfast and view across the street. Our room was quite warm because they changed the air system to heat. We enjoyed our stay otherwise.

We enjoyed our stay at Casalnuovo. We were especially pleased with the personal and helpful service they provided. The staff went out of their way (literally) to assist with some complicated bus info and they actually drove us out of town to catch the bus to our next destination and waited for the bus to arrive to make sure it went smoothly. We were very grateful. The hotel was clean, quiet and spacious. It was wonderfully situated for walking to the nearby Sassi area and for grocery shopping. I would stay there again and would recommend this hotel.

The hotel is designed as a cave similar to the Sassi of Matera. It is adjacent to the Sassi caves allowing you to easily walk there. They have a terrace overlooking the site. There are large sitting areas in the lobby with all the rooms entering off those areas.

The staff of two people were pleasant, helpful & fun. The concierge was extremely knowledgeable of Matera as well as many of the surrounding towns. He willingly contacted some Communes to obtain hours & days of operation.

Even though there was a confusion with our reservation, the staff was friendly and helpful and sorted out the problem really quickly and we had a lovely room.
