ITC 格蘭德金奈佐拉豪華精選酒店 (ITC Grand Chola, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Chennai)

We stayed at the ITC Grand Chola between 11-June-2026 and 12-June-2026. I brought my parents for their 50th anniversary. Although the staff tried to prepare the room for their special day, we were given a different room at the last minute and so the two staff members had to hurry in doing the decorations in the new room as we were checking in which I think they did a great job in welcoming us. The room service staff do not converse in English or the local Tamil language fluently which made some of the requests unattended or being asked again. The room provided to us had few faulty switches and charging points - not expected at such a hotel! The bathroom floors are slippery and not ideal for elders. The access from the lifts to the room was poor for a wheelchair user (I had to use for my mother who underwent knee surgery couple of years ago) - this is because of the way the carpets were set to the floor with metallic projections causing bumps in the corridors. The breakfast spread was excellent and we enjoyed the vegetarian food options provided there after the overnight stay. Overall, the stay and experience could have been better especially as I had given a heads-up about my parents' anniversary. The two staff members (1 from Kerala and the other from Manipur) really worked hard to make our stay pleasant and my parents appreciated their service. For the standards expected from this hotel, I must conclude that there are some significant areas to improve!

All good, and an amazing property just to walk around and appreciate the architecture and atmosphere. But, more importantly, this has the most amazing and comfortable beds in India! (even some five-star hotels like the Leela Palace in Chennai has rock hard mattresses, so I moved to ITC Chola). One tip you MUST request a quieter room, away from under the flight path (planes feel like they are just above the swimming pool), away from the outside metro and traffic and the gym which opens very early. Other than that it is paradise. Recommend the Club upgrade if it's not costing too much at time of booking, as the beautiful lounge with free bar for two hours (immediate service, they will even bring two drinks together, for one person, if you wish) also has a very good free buffet (chicken, prawns etc.) - was good enough for me as my evening meal. Also a very impressive breakfast in the re-modelled restaurant - very efficient and tasty. Love the pool and the spa, great hot-tub and sauna (free for all guests). Highly recommend, but light sleepers be warned: request a quieter room or it will not be pleasant.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. The overall experience exceeded our expectations. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay. You won’t be disappointed!
