The location is amazing, the view out onto the late is stunning! With a lovely balcony area where you can go out and sit. Currently it’s going through renovations so you can’t use the outside area at all - this was a shame because it was one of the biggest appeals to me when booking. We got complimentary access to the indoor spa, where they have drinks you can take pool side, really good amenities there. The WiFi was awful in our room, only worked a couple times. The room wasn’t clean enough, kept finding stray hairs in the bed and on the floor. Needed more shower gel - one small sample size for 2 people all weekend wasn’t enough. The breakfast options were really good, we got less food on the Sunday when we went for a later breakfast, so better to go early if you’re hungry. We ate at the restaurant both nights, lovely fish & chips available.

Room was clean. Bathroom was stained and could be maintained better. Renovation works were noisy and disruptive

Super nice stay, plenty of facilities to relax. Spa was heavenly, would defo come back.

Breakfast was excellent. Very good quality and service. Spa very good also and of course beautiful views. Only negative noise outside early morning due to renovations.

Despite the renovations going on, our stay was not affected. The room was lovely with a great view of the lake, thr view from the restaurant and balcony were amazing, The staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely like to visit again.

Good value for money with the spa. Room could have cleaner as had a few bugs. Views were great.

This should remain close during refurbishment. No way this can be a 4 star.

The hotel is set in a beautiful location with stunning views overlooking Lake Windermere. The staff are lovely, efficient, and professional- we were even allowed to check in early and received a wonderful room upgrade on arrival! A few small improvements would make the experience even better: Cleanliness- There were a few spiderwebs on our ceiling that were missed during room prep. Amenities- For a 4-star hotel, we missed having a mini-fridge in the room. Complimentary bottled water in the room (rather than having to request it at reception) would also be a great touch. Toiletries- We were only provided one set of shampoo, shower gel, and soap, with no conditioner. For two guests, two full sets including conditioner should be standard. Aside from these minor points, it’s a lovely hotel and a great choice if you’re looking for a quiet, romantic getaway with your partner!

Don’t be fooled by the exterior. Very welcoming reception area and tentative staff with amazing views across the lake. Great food and choice at the bar makes for a perfect stay just a short bus ride from the hussle of the town
