Room was clean and neat, friendly atmosphere for families or just friends

Japanese style housing, with cheap American feel.

Absolutely fantastic for a hostel! I, unfortunately, lost my wallet before I arrived at the hostel. The woman at reception helped me call the Shinkansen station and found my wallet for me. All I had to do was pick it up the next day. Wonderful Customer Service!

Such a wonderful experience I had in my stay at J-hoppers Universal. Staffs were so nice and helpful, the bed was comfortable and clean although I always hit my head to the ceiling of bottom bed lol. Kitchen helped me so much since I like to make meals by myself, and it was big and clean. I enjoyed my stay in J-hoppers universal so much and definitely will choose to stay here again next time when I go to osaka.

I got a triple room with friends and the room was bigger than expected. It was clean, quiet and we had enough room to spread our bags out. The futons were a bit hard but thats par for the course with futons. The staff were very friendly and every time I used the shared bathrooms they were clean - just remember to bring your own towel if you dont want to rent one. Their English was great and all the room info has English support. Its in a convenient location only 4 mins walk to the station. We had easy access to Osaka station and USJ. Overall we had a great time and very much enjoyed our stay.

The staff was amazing and so kind and helpful even when I didn’t realize it. They have bikes you can rent and offered a lot of great recommendations in the neighborhood. The room set up was peaceful and nicely laid out. My only qualm was with it being so close to Universal, there were a lot of children running around, which more surprised me than upset me. But it was always exciting in the lobby area. Would definitely come back and stay here!!!

Stayed only the night after visiting Universal Studios but wished we stayed the night before as well. J Hoppers staff spoke English very well, were friendly and clear in their instructions. There is a small range of food options that can be bought on site and the shared kitched is very well equipped. Convenience stores like Family Mart, are not far away either. Loved the free tea and coffee service. We had a private twin room with plenty of power sockets for recharging phones, etc. Beds were traditional and expect it would take a while to get used to the small pillows. As its a hostel, we expected the request to strip the beds of linen and put into laundry hampers which was no problem. Luggage can be forwarded there if you are organised or left there while awaiting for room readiness. Our room was ready earlier than expected so we were given access to it hours in advance which was much appreciated. Note that there is no lift so carrying a heavy suitcase upstairs may be a challenge. We wish there were J Hoppers everywhere.

It is near to USJ. If you plan to stay for a night near USJ, this is a right place. Just 1 station away from USJ. This may not be good for you if you have no data connection as the wireless connections over there kept failing to connect.

Pls specify the JR Station in the confirmation as we have trouble finding this hotel. We walked all the way from Universal City JR Station with luggages and a small child. Overall the hotel is in a quiet area and we have to walk a back lane but overall is safe. We are also not aware that we have to pay for use of towels at each 100 yen. We stay 3 nights and the wifi on my floor is not working for 2 nights and we are unable to connect to internet until the last day.

The shared kitchen and movie night/game area made this a fun hostel. We all felt very comfortable using the shared bathrooms/shower. It was neat, clean, and organized. Also, the staff was really friendly. We enjoyed reading their profiles and learning about them.
