I stayed at the Avani Koh Lanta Resort, and unfortunately, I found it very underwhelming. To be honest, I wanted to leave almost as soon as we arrived. The resort itself is spotless, beautifully maintained, and the staff were genuinely lovely, friendly, and attentive. I have absolutely no complaints about the service or cleanliness. However, for our family, there was simply nothing to do. If you’re travelling with children, I’d think very carefully before booking. The kids’ club was extremely basic, there was very little entertainment, and after a short time our children were bored. The resort has very little atmosphere and feels quite isolated. The restaurant also became repetitive, so we ended up paying around 1,500 baht each time to travel into Old Town just to enjoy a different meal. Drinks at the resort were also expensive—a standard bottle of white wine was around $52 USD, which felt overpriced. In my opinion, this resort is best suited to couples or honeymooners who want complete peace, quiet, and seclusion. If your ideal holiday is reading a book by the pool, switching off your phone, and escaping the world for a few days, you’ll probably love it. If, however, you’re travelling as a family, enjoy exploring local culture, want a choice of restaurants, entertainment, or activities for children, I wouldn’t recommend this resort. It simply wasn’t the right fit for us, and unfortunately, I wouldn’t return.

Amazing resort, the stay was wonderful and beautiful

I’ve been traveling Thailand for 3 weeks and Avani Koh Lanta Resort has been my favorite experience so far. From the extremely kind and helpful staff to the quality of the rooms to the resort grounds, it was all top notch and made my stay elevated beyond expectations. I will be back, you should be as well.

Beautiful resort overlooking the beach, and the room was spotless. Pros: Clean, spacious room Amazing shower with great views Decent breakfast buffet Transport companies were outside the door most hours Reliable laundry service Clean gym, nice Muay Thai class offering Nice spa Cons: DO NOT ORDER TAXI FROM THEM. They ordered a cab (when we had to make a boat) that arrived 20 minutes late, crammed us in with tons of people and the cab smelled of cigarettes, and they dropped our bag on the street. We could have gotten our own private transport that was outside the door for less money. When I pointed this out to the hotel, the response was “we will complain to the company, no worries.” Our complaint is with both the cab company and the hotel. We made a mistake trusting them.

We stayed at Avani+ Koh Lanta for 3 nights in a pool villa and overall had a wonderful time. The resort is beautiful, peaceful, and perfect for unwinding. Our private pool villa was clean, spacious, and very comfortable — just what we needed for a relaxing getaway. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. A special mention to the buggy service, which was super quick every time we called — rarely had to wait more than a couple of minutes. The pool bar was great, and the happy hour from 5–6 PM was a nice touch. That said, when it gets busy, it can be a little hard to get your drinks in time before happy hour ends. We also found the pool bar closed quite early in the evening — not sure if that’s just during low season or standard for the resort. Food at the resort was good, though a bit on the expensive side — which is expected for a resort. In our opinion, the menu could benefit from a bit more variety, especially since there’s only one restaurant and the location is quite secluded from other dining options. Despite these small points, we really enjoyed our time here. The peaceful setting, friendly service, and overall vibe made it a memorable stay. We’d happily come back again!

All the staff was very attentive, polite and was always available. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Food was wonderful.

A beautiful resort and staff so so helpful and always smiley! Rooms were so well kept and really clean. Aircon works very well! Pool area kept very clean and different areas to sit at to have a drink. Beach access for early morning or early evening walks. Food and drinks good, only comment would be cooked breakfast got cold quickly if you didn’t get there at breakfast opening time. Beautiful sea views and an amazing sunset from Reggae Bar!
