Understaffed. Trying to call front desk is ridiculous. Just rings and rings. Restaurant service is terrible. Long waits for someone to acknowledge your presence. Run out of menu items. Breakfast seating is overwhelmed. No available tables. I informed front desk of an issue (by going down in person bc no one answered phone) with the shower spraying water all over, drenching bathroom and flooding floor. Told it was fixed. It was not. Could not get hot water. Terrible. Will never return.

A very comfortable stay. Room was a good size with a comfortable bed. There was a coffee making machine in the room along with a kettle. Iron and ironing board available with bathrobe and slippers. There was also a safe and mini fridge with 4 complimentary drinks. Check in was easy and edgy. Breakfast was exception a wide variety of items from a hot to a cold buffet. The hotel is ideally situated.. only 5mins on the bus: tram to the main station and walking distance to the main shopping street.

The location, the parking, everything about this hotel was perfect!

TLDR: a comfortable hotel with a great gym and a few minor annoyances. Inconsistent shower temperature, shower flooding, and TVs with no ability to stream or cast. The hotel has an exorbitant credit card hold off €50 per night. The Hilton Heidelberg has comfortable beds, quality linens, and black out curtains. It makes for a fairly comfortable sleep. The room still has the archaic power key required for the room. This would be fine if the card wasn't lifted up when room cleaning takes place, as this turns the fridge off (thankfully my things survived, but the fridge shouldn't be on that control). The shower was a mixed bag. It has two shower head options with ok pressure. Regularly, the shower will have temperature changes for a split second before returning to normal. The glass screen is also too short and the silicone strip used to prevent flooding onto the bathroom floor is a poor solution. The TV is a large and modern LG flat screen. This would be excellent except that in true Hilton form, all streaming and casting is blocked. I asked about this and the receptionist told me that they are not smart TVs. (The "apps" and "smart" button on the TV remote say otherwise). I was advised of only 3 English language channels on the TV. It is absurd that in 2026, a 5 star international hotel chain cannot allow guests to cast their devices to the TV. One free water is provided to the rooms each day. We had a very nice stay. Very clean rooms and well maintained property. Great bar on site.
