I booked the hotel for its proximity to Parc de la Tete d'Or. The staff were helpful and friendly, the room clean, the breakfast mediocre, It's close enough to one of the tram lines so you can access the city from it,

Hôtel de Congrès is in a slightly interesting area - some good transport connections but it's not the easiest hotel to get to. It's in the middle of a housing estate which you have to climb stairs up to (and then work out which way to go to get to the actual entrance of the hotel).
The staff are very helpful although early check-in for us didn't happen: we were able to use a loo in the hotel and leave our suitcases before heading back out for the afternoon. Reception is open all night.
Breakfast is from 6:30 every day - this was good as we checked out early but were able to eat before we left. Really nice food and a good selection of it including viennoiseries, cereal, bread, fresh fruit and yogurts, crepes and a really nice range of juices and water.

Lovely hotel with fantastic staff. Rooms are very spacious with modern bathrooms. Breakfast is slightly limited but for us it was more than satisfactory. Internet access was free and very reliable. Underground parking at a very fair price. All in all a little gem which was perfect for our needs as a family. Kudos to the staff. We will definitely return.
