The staff was wonderful, I wish we could have stayed longer. We had a roll and cool brought up to our room. The rooms were all so cute. We were brought cool drinks when we arrived. Although we wanted to have the free breakfast, due to the train strike we had to leave early. Hopefully we can get back there and enjoy more time with them.

The property was lovely. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Really appreciated the ride provided from the Lucca train station. Only suggestion would be to provide lighting over the bathroom sink to facilitate shaving, etc.

La Gemma was great for our quick stay in Lucca. Was easy to find, staff was kind, things were clean. The area is lovely for exploring in and around Lucca.

We reserved a room that was on the second floor (in other words, the 3rd floor). We were hoping for a ground floor, but we were advised that was not available. However, we were moved to anothe location, with minimum stairs. We were very grateful!

Loved this spot in Lucca. Comfy bed, updated bathroom and lovely breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. I was able to store my bag after check-out time which gave me more time to explore Lucca. Would definitely stay here again.

I so thoroughly enjoyed my stay at La Gemma di Elena! It is a lovely property situated near the city center- walking distance to everything you might want to see. Around the corner from the Piazza del Anfiteatro.
The property appears to have been someone's flat at one point- and is now divided into several guest rooms and a large entry room where a tasty breakfast is served every morning.
The room was well appointed- complete with a mobile air conditioning unit which was key in late August this year! It was the best night of sleep that I experienced my entire two weeks in Italy! The staff were very kind- and I believe it was one of the owners that carried my luggage downstairs for me when I was leaving.
Highly recommend this little gem if you are traveling to beautiful Lucca! :)
