The room had a strong smell of cigarettes even though it’s a non-smoking room. I had to air the room out for a few minutes each time I came into the room to help with the smell. The clientele can be a bit sketchy in the evening hours but everyone keeps to themselves. The room was decent for the price, the room itself could use some upgrades such as the TV and dressers. I mostly needed a place to sleep while touring around San Diego for a few nights. Breakfast was carbs only, waffles, cereal, muffins and such, so don’t expect eggs and other breakfast proteins. The staff at the front desk were pleasant and helpful. Sits close to freeway for easy access to get around San Diego. I would recommend as a more affordable option for not so picky solo travelers or couples without children.

Homeless people living and sleeping on the property was not safe

I realize that I get what I pay for. The staff was great but the place is a bit shabby. Because it wasn't too expensive, there were a lot of young people being loud until the wee hours of the morning.

To help others mainly with family/kids: Had absolutely no problem with staff there and have never minded staying at a motel 8 However the property needs some care (bathroom fixture updated, road clean up, lighting). Both our non smoking rooms had a faint lingering cigarette smell. 1 room with non working tv. Outside smelled like marijuana at all times. Homeless sleeping in the halls. Strollers were hard to take in through the outdoor halls. Breakfast was very limited (attendant was nice) Additional cost for parking- which are VERY narrow I understand it’s a cheaper option but maybe worth half the price we paid. If your with family- just please pay extra few hundred for the others within minutes range Again there was no problem with staff they were nice. And location was conveniently off freeway

Yikes. It's better to spend a little extra to make sure you can get decent sleep. Would not recommend.

Breakfast was basic but good! I love black coffee and had plenty of it. Staff are friendly and quick to help. Stayed a week and enjoyed every second

It was pretty ok. I checked in on Monday. I didn’t have a well maintained fridge. My food went bad as it was cooling anything not the little freezer port. I tried to call in but there was no phone in the room to reach front desk. When I called from my phone it had no person answering 2 times and no option to leave a voicemail. I went to the front desk the next day to express my concerns and I came back to the room the amenities still weren’t working as they should. And I just checked out today. I did check out the breakfast room it was pretty nice. I put my voucher in the basket as it says to then I started getting my tea & a worker came to me as if I didn’t put my voucher in there which I did & when she showed it to me the basket was empty so idk how we got there. I just wish the other issues were fixed for my stay.

Biggest bang for your buck around the "Hotel Circle" area of San Diego. Exceptional rooms for a "Super 8." We were pleasantly surpised and would stay there again.

The walls were thin and we herd the people next door talking and yelling at there kids
