We were greatly disappointed upon arriving at Deva - our Expedia booking has stated private tub and balcony, neither of which was included in the standard room. It also stated free beach shuttle but this also did not exist. Staff spoke very minimal English so you could not ask any questions. The pool closed at 7pm, which was disappointing. The beach is not swimmable and the tide has it out most of the day and the coastline is all washed up coral and rock. They do not maintain the part of sand on the property. No hand towels or face clothes provided. Also did not provide bathroom soap. Only redeeming feature was the proximity to the most amazing Thai cheap food with warm friendly atmosphere - PlaiLaem Tam Sung

The room was the worst i have stayed in in 40 years of traveling no management to deal with issues raised on seeing the room the room was not the one sent with our confirmation. No headbord electrical sockets on the wall in the middle of the bed no outside space atip outside the toilet was dirty and in a cupboard the ensuite only hold on person and you can use the sink from the bedroom. Our ond other guests personal details leaked and scammer and hotel not interested overall room a 2 star not 4/5 star i belive the photo and description is fraud lent

Generally good at that price, but if I shall point to one particular thing: Friendly and helpsome staff

I’ve been traveling for 12+ years and have never experienced anything like this. From the moment we arrived at Deva Beach Resort, the receptionist was cold and unhelpful. We asked for a paid upgrade—she refused, claiming nothing was available, even though I saw rooms online. Only the next day, she said. The room was disgusting: dried stains on the walls, black pillows, and a filthy bathroom. Our luggage was delayed, so we had nothing with us. We asked for toothbrushes and bathrobes—she said the resort doesn’t offer them. I asked for the manager—she claimed there isn’t one, only a CEO, and refused to give any contact. She wouldn't even share her name. She didn’t explain anything—no info about breakfast or facilities. When I asked where breakfast was, she just said, “Walk ahead and you’ll find it.” After 3 hours of arguing, a “new room” magically appeared—for 100€ more. This one had everything we asked for earlier, proving she lied. The next day, she laughed in our faces as we passed reception. This kind of behavior is unacceptable in any hotel, let alone a resort. Avoid Deva Beach Resort at all costs. It completely ruined the start of our vacation.

As other reviewers have noted about the sunset, it is a great location for that. The facility has everything you expect from a budget resort but it’s clearly past its prime. The sun loungers are all stained and grubby. The pool bar is used to store an empty fridge. The staff are all polite but this is normal for all of Thailand. The rooms are adequate but in my case the shower rail holding the soap and shampoo slipped out of the wall with both plastic bottles smashing on the tiles. On checkout they had the cheek to try and charge me for this. Of course I didn’t pay but it shows the level of care they have for this aging property that they try and blame guests for its failing state. It’s a shame as it has so much potential if some money were put into it by a new owner.

Property was clean, modern and comfortable. Amazing for our short stop in Koh Samui
