It was a very cute and quaint place to stay. We arrived when staff was at lunch, so our keys were set out at the front desk for us. The room was charming. However, work was being done on the patio, and a worker was using a loud sander. I do understand that upkeep needs to be done from time to time. Also, there was no indication that we would have to walk up a big hill to get to the property. People should be aware that it is easier to pay for a golf cart taxi to take you and your luggage up the hill. Also, the most frustrating part of the stay was that there was a loud, disorienting noise coming from the wall in the middle of the night that lasted on and off for about 20 minutes. It interrupted my sleep.

Had cockroaches in the room. Staff was friendly and personally liked the location as it was a bit away from the buzzing crowd.

Stay away from this hotel is dirty and found hairs in the shower. The Kitchen was dirty and dusty.

You get what you pay for. No price gouging - a little bit of an uphill walk but spacious rooms.

The room was good size and clean the area was kind of place but it was close to everything I will get it again next time

I arrived around 2:30pm to check in and there was no staff onsite. There's a note on the window counter that says they are "out to lunch" and our room key was there along with several other people. This seemed very odd as wouldn't other people have potentially have access to our room? I called and texted the listed phone #, never got a response Bathroom: shower was horrible. While taking a shower, it would spray scorching hot water for 10-20 seconds, then it would spray cold water for another10-20 seconds. It would alternate back and forth for the entire duration AC unit: the temperature was not consistent with what the thermostat said on the AC unit. It was either too freezing cold or not cold enough Front desk staff: unprofessional is an understatement. My kids and I came back from a bike ride and were heading back to our room. The hallway leading to our room was on the ride side of the hotel where the office entrance was. My kid was straddling the bike and walking it. It was then when the front desk man's girlfriend out of the office door and almost collided with my son's bike. The office man YELLED at my son and said he wasn't allowed to ride his bike on the hotel property. My son was not pedaling. Even if bikes were not allowed, he didn't have to yell. My son is just a kid. I didn't say anything as I didn't want to cause a scene. On the final day, the same office man and I had a verbal confrontation. We are hotel guests but felt mistreated and disrespected.

Super cute space that served us well. Def older- our shower dripped and it smelt musky, but everything was clean and presentable. Having the full kitchen was great. Nothing super fancy, but met our needs and was comfortable. Front desk wasn’t helpful with the free ride from the ferry or storing luggage, also kept odd hours. But they weren’t rude, either. It is at the top of a hill for a walk so plan for that!

We would have enjoyed the stay if not for the dozens of cockroaches we found in the kitchen area on the second night of our 2 night stay because we used the stove and microwave. Yuck!! With the proper fumigation, this place would be fantastic.

This place is fine if you plan to not be in your room much. It's not horrible, just okay. We had a nice view but unfortunately there was a larger family unit next to us so we had kids constantly running up and down and looking through our window which we tried to keep open to enjoy the view. Eventually we had to close it because those kids couldn't help themselves. They made the stay very noisy. Obviously not the hotel's fault but something you should consider if you are looking for a peaceful quiet stay. Check in was easy but early check in was not available. We were allowed to leave our luggage at the front desk which was nice. It was also nice to be able to text for help and the guy was super nice and responsive.

Have to say the only downside is that the stove looks like it's from the 70's. It works but it's a place to put your head and enjoy Catalina Island. Would stay there again. But notice that the price is pretty high on weekends. Enjoy.
