This hostel isn't for everybody. They have loud music playing all afternoon and evening until 11pm at night. I could hear it from my upper room. I chose a bad time to go; they were under construction and one set of the bathrooms were being repainted. Bunks are comfortable enough, but walls are thin so you can hear every sound from people sharing your room.

Hostel was a good level of social with various activities you could sign up for. However multiple people across various rooms had money stolen from their locked lockers. Staff didn’t seem to want to investigate the issue. Reading back on reviews on other sites seems like a common issue so be warned if using a TSA approved lock. The bunk beds which were 6 beds joined were rocky you could feel anytime someone climbed into bed or moved.

I was surprised by the high ratings for this property. As a solo female traveler, I did not feel comfortable in the surrounding area, particularly after dark. The street is poorly lit, and because it is pedestrian-only, rideshares cannot drop off directly at the entrance, which made arriving at night feel challenging. I also often saw people loitering and using substances right outside the building, which added to the sense of insecurity. Inside, I encountered several issues: belongings went missing in the rooms, the bathrooms were not clean, and the courtyard flooded during rain. I also had an interaction with staff that felt unprofessional, and when I mentioned that I felt unsafe, the response was dismissive. In the end, I decided to move to a different hostel, which worked out better. The one positive was that Skye did a great job organizing social activities. Overall, however, I would not recommend this property for solo female travelers.
