Perfect location to have access to everything in a comfy environment.
Unfortunately, in the evening, you can still hear the noise from the local shops. Otherwise, a beautiful place to stay.

The hotel was beautiful and clean. It was in the center of the old town. Restaurants on the streets on either side of the hotel. Music everywhere. One block from the water and one block from the Main Street. Everything you could imagine was in walking distance of the hotel. The best part was the rooftop infinity pool and the views from the rooftop were spectacular. Best breakfast buffet ever and it’s included in the stay. I’d recommend Barcelo Funchal Oldtime to anyone who wants to experience Madeira.

The Barcelo is the perfect place to stay. It is close to the water front, cathedral, main town. The oldest street and cable car are just a five minute walk.
The hotel itself is lovely. Breakfast is delicious and the buffet selection well stocked. Staff are really friendly and helpful.
The rooftop pool, although not very deep, is lovely to cool down in. The views from the rooftop are delightful in the day and night.
Definitely worth staying here.

Loved staying at the Barcelo Funchal in Oldtown! It is a beautiful hotel with so many amenities that includes a rooftop pool and lounge area. The staff were extremely helpful and gracious. Also in the heart of town so makes everything easily walkable. Thank you!
