Located in the southeastern part of South Korea, Gyeongju is filled with heritage sites and antiquities. You start with a visit to the Bulguksa Temple, the head temple of Korean Buddhism encompassing seven national treasures of South Korea. This is followed by a trip to Cheomseongdae, the oldest astronomical observatory in the world. At noon, fill up on a special meal of vegetable bibimbap, a Korean classic. Next, you'll visit the Kyocho Hanok Village, a traditional Korean village where you can walk around wearing a real hanbok! The final two destinations include Daeneungwon, a famous historic tomb, and Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, part of an ancient palace complex, giving you a look into the life of royalty at the time.
