My wife and I stayed for two nights in cabin 1. It was charming, clean, and exactly as advertised. The small kitchenette was perfect for our purposes (we had not intended to cook & instead done in the village); the fridge was nicely stocked for breakfast. The heaters worked well in both the main room and in the bathroom that’s just a few steps away across the porch (private). The bathroom is small but, again, perfectly sufficient. The location is breathtaking. The view from the porch across the valley is sublime, from dusk till dawn. We also loved walking down to the glowworm grotto on the property—a nice “private” supplement to cave tours nearby. Our morning hike in the area was also wonderful. The quiet and peace with only sheep and cows nearby (& the occasional farmer) can’t be beaten. We would return in a heartbeat if we returned for another visit to NZ. Highly recommended.

A really wonderful place to explore the surrounding area. The cabin has everything you need, hosts are super friendly & helpful. I couldn't recommend staying here enough.

Lovely little rural stay — quiet, clean, and very comfortable. Great hosts with great local knowledge spots to visit and a perfect spot to relax away from the city. Would happily stay again.

If you’re looking for a unique place to stay in Waitomo that will not disappoint, this is the place. The hosts are next level hospital, particularly “Ratbag” and you’ll be hard pressed to beat the views. Tranquil, peaceful, cosy, relaxing and truly restorative. No, you won’t get wifi or room service but what you will get is your own private glowworm grotto, breathtaking views and leave feeling warm, loved and wishing you could stay longer. Truly unforgettable accommodation.

What a view, with a simple clean hut, all we needed. Kids loved the loft beds, and we just loved the simplicity and beauty of it all

Amazing views, the host was incredibly welcoming and happy to have a chat. The farm was beautiful and the walk to the pond was pure magic. Our kids loved the loft beds and the little lambs running around. Small touches everywhere with extra blankets and hot water bottles. Only wish we stayed longer to enjoy it a little more.

We cannot say enough about this property. We were absolutely floored by the views, the hospitality, and the comfort. Angus is the best host I've ever interacted with. He was so welcoming, had great recommendations, and we loved talking to him. We also adored the onsite kitty!

If you are going to visit the glow worms in the caves, this is the best place to stay as you can get to see your own personal glow worms at the sink hole a couple of minutes walk from your bed! A fantastic addition to the overall experience! There are also other things to see on the farm. Angus is a smashing host who loves to share!
