Lift wasn’t working

This hotel is valuable for its adjacency to Paddington station, to which the Heathrow Express arrives and from which departs. It is literally next door. We use it for the last night before transatlantic flights to make the travel day less stressful. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was tiny but clean and serviceable with effective air conditioning, essential during heat waves. Our room was on the second (UK) floor and shortly after we checked in to the room, the one elevator broke down. This made it difficult for one of us as he had a knee injury and two flights of stairs were challenging. Staff were happy to take the heavy luggage down to street level, but it took longer than expected. Just bad luck, but it's unfortunate for a hotel to be dependent on a single elevator in hot weather.

Lift was broken, which can happen I guess, but I was more annoyed at having paid 180 quid for a tiny room right next to the service lift. Won’t be returning.

Air con could get it cool in the room

Tiny room in the loft, had to climb round the rafters to get into the bed. Fridge was so small you couldn’t fit a 500ml bottle in it and it didn’t work. Had to put the kettle on the floor to boil it as no socket on the top. Bathroom was so small had to tuck your elbows in to go to the toilet. All for a bargain £240 a night.

Staff are very nice, however the property just isnt maintained to the level of mercure. We stayed end of June 2026. No restaurant on site at the minute, breakfast is offered in a restaurant down the road. No forward communication to the tell guests before checking in. First night the boilers went so there was no hot water, and then the water was fully turned off to resolve, however guests were not informed, we only found out after ringing reception to inform them of no hot water, no print outs under a door. It was fixed the same night. 2nd night the lift broke down, it was fixed for the next morning. Room decor is good, the softdrinks in the room were complementary, location of the hotel is great, you can here the rumble of the tube but its not overtly disturbing

What a location! Step out of the Paddington station into the beautifully crafted Paddington Square and the hotel is right there! We thought the sound of trains would bother us, but it didn't. The staff was EXCELLENT. They went above and beyond for us from the minute we reached the steps; helped us with our bags, found a way to allow us a very early check in (which we truly appreciated after a long flight) and let us store our bags on the property. The room was not that big but we managed the two of us in the space. Bed was very comfortable and we slept very well. And lastly, great value for money considering the central location. I'm already recommending this place to our friends as it ticks all the boxes.

Lovely staff, clean rooms though a bit small. Air conditioning worked great (who knew London would be 85!). Very well located for the underground and the Heathrow Express.
