The staff were friendly and helpful. They provided information about resources available. Loved the old town feel. It reminds me of a Moroccan riad. Breakfast is good. The location is great. It’s close to the ferry. It has a nice rooftop to watch the sunset. It’s close to the airport.

This hotel is old and tired. The welcome was, at best, lukewarm, and the service was generally not good. The room was not well cleaned but there was good air conditioning, which was very welcome. Furniture was old and beds uncomfortable. The phone in the room did not work and other guests were allowed to yell at each other at 3am in the communal areas! Breakfast offer was good. Restaurant was awful - service was poor, food was almost inedible, card machine doesn’t work! They do not sell alcohol and don’t name this in their description. They do offer “mocktails” which are an absolute laugh! Don’t waste your money! Swimming pool was nice but the chairs/sofas around the pool are very dirty. Would not recommend it.

Good location, friendly staff, and a really interesting and unique building. Would stay here again next time I’m in Stone Town

Beautiful location, great swimming pool and the staff were all fantastic. Wish we’d known about the noise from the ferry/container port though.
